Crofutt and Smith Moving and Storage Carelessness, Unprofessional, Heartless, Unfair, Internet

Upon having the furniture delivered, one of the moving men stated that my mom's $1200 couch had been dropped from "high up"in the warehouse. The wooden leg was broken off. In addition, several items are missing. One of the most important items is an Ethan Allen couch pillow belonging to another sofa. The warehouse did not even acknowledge that they searched the warehouse for missing items, even though I questioned them about this.

We did not take extra insurance, as we were already paying a great deal of money for storage. I thought that was more than sufficient. As a result, we are receiving 60 cents per pound for the damaged couch. No one offered to have this piece repaired, nor any other pieces that were damaged in the move. That would have been most humane and professional . 

The company has to take responsibility for damage  that was obviously done to the furniture in their warehouse. The couch is a major issue. This has been very upsetting. We paid over $5000 for this move and storage. They just take the money with no regard for their clients.

I also noticed that on the inventory sheet, most items were classified as "rubbed or stained". This was not true of any of our pieces, but was a great way for the movers to cover themselves. My father had just passed away, and I guess I was too trusting that this would be handled fairly. I even requested that someone come and look at the condition of our furniture, which they failed to do. Who holds these people accountable?
