Crossmark interviewed me (over the phone) for a part-time brand rep/sales job project which would last 5 months. They told me that at the end of the project we would receive a bonus of $500 if we completed all the work on time and correctly each week of the project.  When I was then offered the job (at a later -over the phone- conversation), the hiring manager repeated the same terms of employment, with the $500 dollar bonus at the end of the project.  I was told I would be working 5 shifts, 4 hours each, totaling 20 hours a week and that 20 hrs was what we would be paid for each week.

I was not told that there was mandatory work to be preformed from home after each shift that was not paid.  This totaled an extra 2 1/2 - 3hrs a week.  We also were to be in constant communication -via emails-  with our market manager.  This totaled another hour or so per week, with mandatory responses, for which we were not paid.  We only used email and phone to communicate with the company.

The program was cut short suddenly and all 140 of us (nationwide) were let go with only 2 days notice.  They delivered the news via a conference call where we were not allowed to speak.  Just said the program was ending in 2 days, thanks for all your hard work.  That was it.  No explanation.  I know the program was successful as a store manager told me the previous week that their sales of the product was up 96%!  2 days notice!  Real professional.

When my manager sent me my bonus info, it said $150.  What?  She said we were only getting $10 dollars a week as a bonus (from which they ripped me off with that amount, I was there 16 weeks)  When I told them I was told it would be $500, and with only 7 weeks left to the original end date, their numbers didn't add up.  They denied ever saying $500 and said I was never told that.  They asked if I had it in writing? -which I didn't, it was verbal- and said if I didn't have it in writing then too bad, because they were only paying $10 dollars a week.

They lied.  Several times I was told $500.  I completed all the work and on time.  This is bad business practice but I guess they figure they can say whatever they want to get you to work for them,  I turned down another job for this job, because of the bonus!  Then they left me in a horrible situation with no job and bills to pay and not the bonus or the correct percentage of the bonus I was supposed to get.  Plus they had me work a mandatory 48 extra hours that I was not paid for.  This is criminal.

Do not work for this company.  They don't care what they say or what they do to their employees, as long as they are making their money.  They left me stranded and ripped me off!

They are thieves and liars.  Bad business practice.  Save yourself some grief and don't do business or work for them.
