We purchased a brand new 2014 Crossroads travel trailor from a well known company in Seffner, Fl. It was delivered to us at the end of May. Within the month, we knew that we had purchased a lemon... here is a list of what was wrong when we took it back to the service dept
1.. Awning collapsed and arm is bent
2.. Floor leading from the living area to the front bedroom has a large slope toward the outside wall
3..Slide room have gap at top seal of slide rooms when rooms are extended, visible from the outside on roof
4..Molding before and after front entry door is pulling loose from RV
5.. Water heater not working on electric
6.. Outside kitchen frame holding water
7.. Upper threshold of door from living room to front bedroom is pulling free from the ceiling
8.. Emergency exit window has large gap at top allowing leak and debris to enter the rv
9.. Wallpaper peeling from kitchen walls in large ripples
The RV was in for repairs for 7 weeks...they called and told us all repairs were completed. Upon setting the RV up, we discovered that the floor was NOT fixed and the awning still did not work... and that the wallpaper had not been repaired. We called and made another appointment with the service dept.
We took it back on Nov 10th , 2014 and it is STILL IN SERVICE!! They have replaced the slides because of WATER DAMAGE and now the slides do not come out ... They have WELDED the outriggers to try and fix the soft spots and sloping in the floor. They had to redo the front because the brown faded to white, the heater was not blowing air into the bunk cabin so that was repaired. The paperwork I recieved last week from the service dept not says the Shore cor does not supply power to the coach!!
I called and talked to a Manager named Angie Cox at the Crossroads customer service office. I explained to her that this unit is clearly subpar and defective. We want them to take this RV back. We purchased this brand new RV in good faith and hoped they would stand by their product. She told me that the only thing Crossroads could do is " add the down time to the warranty"!! This is NOT acceptable!
I am sure that Crossroads sells a great product and a lot of people are happy with them... BUT, if you happen to purchase one that IS defective... don't expect them to own up to it and do the right thing!
IT'S NOT WORTH THE RISK!!! DO NOT BUY A CROSSROADS!!!!

Your Lemon:
First, warnings, Never ever say Lawyer, Sue, Lawsuit. The instant you do you have to get your Lawyer involved, once you use that language the Dealer is better off to let thier Lawyer deal with it.
Never loud, allways polite, never swear, Never accuse, talk to everyone like you know for sure they are trying to help you even if they are the dumbest most useles person you have ever met.
Documentation of problems is required! By the way don't bring up the awning, its failure is going to be assumed to be abuse even if it is not, AND it is not warrantied by Crossroads anyway.
1st You talked to the wrong person at the Factory. The Person you get on the phone 1st and second are people with very limited power. They will try to buy you off with warranty extesions and the like. Every time they do ask to speak to a more senior person, Only stop asking for a more senior person if you get an agreement that will do or you speek directly to the CEO (wont ever happen, but you get the idea)
Get the Name or contact info for the sales rep From Crossroads for your Dealer, your sales manager won't want to give you that info but he is the key. You may not get to speak to him, you may not even get his name, but if you are sitting in the Dealer Sales Manager Office and ask POLITELY and explain that you are getting the run around from Crossroads warranty it should get some action.
2nd The sale of New RVs is Licenced and Governed by the State of Florida, file a complaint with this body. As long as the do as they should this is a big ouch for the dealer. A report to the BBB probably won't help but again an ouch for the dealer.
3rd Crossroads is not going to want to buy back for cash, but they may build you a new trailer exactly the same but not a Lemon. If you want a complete refund expect to pay the legal fees to get it.
4th Be relentless, visit the Service manager weekly, Visit in person the Sales manager weekly, Call the Factory Weekly, be quiet and calm but make sure they understand you are not giving up. Make sure all contact from you is face to face at the dealer, waste their time, be a polite pain in the butt. Cost them time and money, politely.
5th file a lawsuit, Last resort expensive.
