Went through training earning $350 p. Week. Went out with co-driver afterwards and earned only $160 -220 p.wk. Did most of the driving with co-driver (have mileage logs to prove it), and tolerated verbal abuse, to the point of screamfests, with this codriver, he also got us involved in several dangerous situations because he would not follow directions from dispatch, signs, or me, since I had been there before and trying to help him.

He earned $1,100 p. wk. had 3 trainers, 2 of which threw him out of their rigs, and I had more seniority and did most of the driving. I called Company about this, filed a report on his behavior in writing and was forced to continue on two more weeks with him until I got home. While home I called dispatcher everyday to see if they had another codriver, waiting @ home 6 wks, then got "terminated" for no reason I could possibly think of.

Then I get bills and harrassed by their collection managers for driving school, which under the terms of my contract, if I was terminated through no fault of my own, I owed nothing. This company holds my certificate which I need to get hired at another company. Have hired lawyer but he is afraid to go after CRST. I filed for wrongful termination. Went to CDL school in Kentucky and was forced to sign on with CRST or walk home to Ohio.

Had I known it would come to this, I would never have went to work for this outfit, had more money when I went to school there, and came home right then when was forced to sign w/ CRST!! But I spent every last dime I had to get to school, and @ school you only get $35 allowance p. week, I spend more than that @ home to eat! Then on the road, it costs more than what I made to get by, let alone send any home to keep things up at home!

To BrokenBeaten. Call other companies for employment and KEEP YOUR LOG BOOKS. There are plenty of people who have quit CRST and didn't get their "diploma". I, myself, don't have one from the school I went to 2 years ago. Most schools want to hold that piece of paper hostage for outragous payments due for school. But your log books prove you drove , plus you have your license with the "A" on it makes a difference! Many others have been in your shoes. I myself quit CRST 2 years ago. The truck we drove had beyond dim lights so you couldn't see at night, the air brakes had a slow leak, and we would have to test them before going down a grade, pull over and get them back up on air before going down the next grade. At the same time, the ac had been out for 3 days while the temps hit 100, plus alternator belt was almost off. No exxageration--it was this bad all at once. Anyways I am from midwest area, and I got off the truck in Texas-belongings and all-right at a Freightliner dealer because I was that scared of how bad it was. I also only had 4 months experience at that time, but with my log books in tow, I had proof I had driven. Read the reports on this sight for other driving jobs, go to trucker's forum to check out companies, and also go into FMCSA to check the safety stats on companies. Good luck and don't give up. It's always hard the first year--especially when you start out with one of the worst companies out there. I have 2 friends who went to school thru CRST but they took their log books as proof. Good luck and hope you do well.
