My high school class planned a cruise over a year ago with Cruise Planners Travel Consultant American Express franchise. Owner Carmen O'Reilly was the agent who booked the group's cruise. Upon finding out that one of the members in my group was not going to make it, i notified Ms. O'Reilly, and she promised me that I would get refunded my taxes, and port fees for that person, only if I wait until the day of the cruise , and he doesn't show he would be considered a "no show." Because i didn't have insurance on my packages (Cost for 4 people), whom were traveling in my party, Ms. O'Reilly said that that's all I would be entitled to (taxes & port fees). I paid for everyone in my party with my credit card. i requested a copy of the cruise payment, and I was told that my bank receipt was it. Ms. O'Reilly then told me that once she got through with getting everyone straihht, she would present me with a receipt. I didn't y $250.00 deposit for one person in the group, because she had made the payment on her own. I was then told by Ms. O'Reilly, while on the cruise that she would give me a receipt after the cruise. She advisede that no one was given a receipt but one person. That person was in my party, and needed the receipt to obtain her passport renewal. I contacted Ms. O'Reilly by telephone and inquired about how much I would be getting back, because now, two people in my party did not show up. I was told that for myself and the other person who would've shated the Balcony cabin ($874.00 original cost) with me had a $159.00 port fees&taxes. The other two in my party shared an Ocean view cabin ($639.00 original cost) which had a combined $269.00 charge for port taxes & fees. I did obtain a receipt from Guest services on the ship of my fare and port charges paid to them by Ms. O'Reilly. It did not reflect the $874. Originally quoted for myself and my cabin mate. The fare was listed as $600.00 and port charges listed as $159.00. Ms. O'Reilly then informed me after I sent her a copy of my receipt, that she didn't charge me the whole thing for neither one of the two booking numbers I have. One thing I noticed which remains constant, was the port charges for both. One was totalled $318. And the other was totalled $269.00. when divided by two (2), it gives you the total port charges and taxes for each in each booking number (cabin designation). I later received a receipt for the booking number which was for the other two in my party who shared a room, and later received a makeshift one (altered) to reflect port fees and taxes as $134.95. I was told by Ms. O'Reilly that I only get back $134. 95 for the two people who didn't show up. I asked why it's only one payment, and I was told that that's what Carnival paid her. Carnival was the one who told me what I should get back. Why is Ms. O'Reilly now telling me something different from what she, herself had also told me? I feel as though I'm being given the "run around" and being lied to. All I want is what is due me: taxes & port fees of $159.00 and $134.95 for two different individuals with two different cabins, and two different fare amounts. There is no way both cabins pays the same taxes and port fees. No two taxes a on two different amounts equal the same amount. I would like for Cruise Planners, Carmen O'Reilly to reimburse me the full and correct amount of port fees and taxes for two separate receipts and amounts totalling $293.90. Ms. O'Reilly did advise me that the $134.90 was all I was getting back out of her hard earned money once I send her my address. I told her I did'nt agree on that amount, because my receipts reflects differently. I also reminded her that she has all of my information, and I will take more actions to get the correct amount of money that is due back to me. Fran Maria Richmond Va.
