I have never bought Champions Online, or ever setup a subscription with Cryptic for any of their Online games.  I tried to get into the Closed Beta program for Champions Online, but was never accepted.

I was charged two subscription fees within the last month for this game, even though I never setup a subscription with them in the first place!

I have read on their forums for both Star Trek Online, as well as Champions Online that this has happened to other players as well.

I was going to post about my problem there because their support line at 408-404-1714 told me they no longer have phone support. In fact, they had a different number listed which referred me to the above number. So when I called their 'new' support number as listed above I was upset because they told me they don't have phone support. I was then going to try to submit a ticket via Atari like the support line told me to.

Only problem is - I DONT HAVE AN ACCOUNT.

How they got my billing information is beyond me. The only thing I have ever bought from Cryptic was a pre-order key for Star Trek Online - an entirely different product and game altogether. I never setup a subscription because I decided I didn't like it. This was back at the launch of Star Trek Online, and I have not been billed since the launch as I had no subscription.

Why would a company wait almost 1/2 a year to start charging a subscription if there actually was one?! Truth be told, I NEVER  HAD ONE with them for EITHER GAME to begin with so being charged for Champions Online makes even less sense than if I were charged for Star Trek Online, which I wasn't.

As I have seen in their own online community - I am not alone in this. What seems to be hundreds of players have been charged after their accounts were closed. But what about those of us that NEVER HAD A SUBSCRIPTION TO BEGIN WITH?!

I have only seen one or two posts that seem like the same situation as me, and that's on the Star Trek page - not even the one I was erroneously billed for. Also, I noticed that since I checked my account - I have also now lost access to that forum as well, so I can't even post about it in the STO forum either...

I don't even want to use a forum to get account support in the first place, but since they dropped all phone support - and I can't submit a proper ticket through Atari like suggested, I thought my only hope would be their forums - but with no active account they can't be used either!

STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM CRYPTIC IF YOU PLAY ONLINE GAMES!

I may have a serious Identity Theft problem on my hands because of this - and from the looks of it I am not alone!
