In November, 2006, I went to this dental office with a tooth that was chipped off. Paul B. Palmer, their dentist, told me that it required multiple procedures, such as filing off the teeth, crown lengthening, gum surgery, root canal and a crown. They gave me a quote of over $4,000 for those things to be done. I did not agree or sign any papers, as I knew I would need a second opinion. In the same seating, he proceeded anyway to file down two of my teeth the one that was chipped off, and the one next to it.
I was given an appointment for November 13th, 2006 to have a crown lengthening surgery done by Dr. Isaacs. I paid $1,050 for two porcelain crowns to be ordered after the procedure is completed by Dr. Isaacs. Nothing was doen at this point, but they required me to pay anyway. I was very uncomfortable with that.
I went to get a second opinion, and a doctor in North Hollywood told me that most of the procedures recommended by Culver Del Rey Dental were easily avoidable, and it was unnecessary to file my other tooth down to that point. The procedure performed unnecessarily resulted in my having to get a crown on a tooth that would not have needed it otherwise.
I cancelled my appointment with Dr. Isaacs, and transferred my paperwork to the other dentist. A month later I went in with my husband to complaint, and after lots of convincing, Dr Palmer personally reviewed my case again and his office manager promised to refund the $1,050 minus a reasonable amount for their "prep work" so far.
However, they NEVER sent me the refund check! In three years, I aksed for it four times, and all I got was promises. Finally they sent me a check for $250, which I tore up and told them to stop joking. I have not heard from them since. I have contacted them multiple times, but they never respond.
This dental office is running a scam with "prepayments" for procedures and promising refund checks they never process. Be very careful with them, and let everyone you know know about this! There are so many reputable dentists out there, these scam artists don't deserve to be called a "dental office."

This dental office (Culver Del Rey Dental Office) is a ripoff.
My dentist was Paul Palmer and he also charged me upfront. When I canceled the procedure he refused to give my money back. Now I need to take them to court.
People be careful!

Just to update this, it has been 3.5 years now, and they are still "reviewing" the case. They have failed to refund my money since. This is the most blatant scam I have ever seen! Beware!

Since then, I have contacted them again. They still refuse to refund the money that they never worked for. I researched them, and the internet is full of bad reviews about them. Clearly a ripoff and a disgrace!
