On December 27, 2003, I went into Cumberland Farms Store at 801 Washington Ave. in Portland. I simply asked the clerk (Matthew Flaherty) for two Megabuck tickets. He gave me a (one) ticke with two numbers. I told him I needed (two) seperate tickets. He became frustrated and extremely rude. I told him that's what I wanted and gave him back the ticket. At that point he told me to "SHUT UP" and said I should "SPEAK UP" so that he could hear me the first time. This was obviously a very ignorant, unedcuated person. He became aggressive with me instantly. When I asked him what is name was he screamed in my face it's MATTHEW FLAHERTY and I can call the cops if you like for me to!!!!
I've had problems in this particular store before and had reported bad behavior to their Regional Manager and the people in the store continue to treat me rudely because of this.
I'm assuming Matthew's nasty, aggressive attitude towards me stems from my previous incident with another rude employee there. The Regional Manager agreed with me when I reported the first incident and told me if anything ever happens again, to let him know. Well I guess it's back to the Regional Manager. It is incredible how people think they can treat you rudely and think they can get away with it? I'm sick of this harrassement from this particular store.

Winslow Store Starts Rumors... slander their customers
AUTHOR: Mary - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, August 13, 2004
Dear Mr. Gemes,
I am contacted you because of a situation that happened on Monday, August 9, 2004 at the Winslow Cumberland Farms. My husband Jim Burns went into the Winslow Store to purchase items as he has done for the past 5 years. Two of the ladies that work there asking my husband if I was always a s****.>
I replied that I had never been rude to anyone at the store. I went to the store to ask why they had said those terrible things about me to my husband. To my surprise I found out that it was the manager and the assistant manager that where laughing and spreading viscous rumors about me. I asked them why? They would not answer me. I asked them to name one incident that would validate their behavior. They could not.
I have worked for the Chamber of Commerce for years and I am currently employed at the Council of Governments. I am on the Winslow Board of Appeals for the Town of Winslow and an active member of the Winslow Ladies Veteran Auxiliary. I do not appreciate rumors being spread about me. The managers of the store should set a good example and not slander their customers. I have contacted my attorney about this situation, slander and deprecation of character is what he recommends. I did want to contact you before we proceed.
Thank you for your time.
Best Regards,
