Curbside Vet,run by solo-operator and Vet named Dr. Sharif Lawendy, is a horrible example of abuse, arrogance, neglect, and outright stealing of someone's beloved pet.
He took possession of my beloved dog, who had severe pneumonia and needed to be kept warm [I gave her blanket and winter coat to him and urged him to make sure she was kept warm and without any stress, and he assured me he would do so].
This was Wednesday when he took her. After taking possession of my dog, he then played horrible psychological games with me... refused to let me see my dog, and when I told him after he had her for 24 hours to NOT give her a very dangerous drug, he did so anyway with outright arrogance and "control" of both me and my dog.
He literally hijacked my dog and caused me to have near emotional breakdowns several times. I had to get my busy Executive husband out of a meeting to call this Vet as he was deliberately "Screening" my urgent phone calls for him to give me back my dog and let me see her.... he just would not answer my urgent emails, nor my phone calls throughout the day.
I had to also get a second Veterinary Office, a "normal" one with an Office Manager, to get involved when he began his 'Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde' personality change.
He would outright lie to me when he finally called at the end of the day around 6pm [after a full day of my constant calling and begging to get a return phone call]. He would say, in the most creepy of tones that was also very condescending and manipulative, "Why are you so upset? I love your dog".... and then he would complain about how busy he was and how popular he is with his RV curbside service in Fairfield County, CT.
The ego and Narcissism was difficult to get through. He tears the Owner down and then abuses them and then pretends to be so "caring" and has admitted in an email that I was a pain in the butt for him and that was why he ignored my calls.
BUT HE HAD MY DOG who was very, very sick and needed professional care, and to be in the hands of a truely good Doctor.
But no, he manipulated me, and clearly abused my dog while he illegally stole her for 6 full days... lying every step of the way...
"Oh, your dog is getting better" was the biggest lie of all.
No, she was getting worse and he failed to bother to communicate with me AT ALL but certainly with the truth that he was OVER HIS HEAD and needed to get my beloved dog to a better facility.
He denied me the opportunity to see my dog for six days. He lied to me. He manipulated me and abused ME, let alone what he did to my dog.
He is not to be trusted with any beloved pet.
Then, when he is out of control and over his head, he has his VET TECH dump my dogs dying body off at a 24 hour hospital over an hour away from my town of residence, and never bothers to tell me the dire condition that my dog is really in.
I rush to the hospital, and am told that this horrible Vet, Dr. Lawendy, was not present at all to bring our dog to them. Instead, she was reportedly put into the back of an SUV owned by the Vet Tech, on a VERY cold winter day, without her coat, blanket nor her overnight bag that had many good vitamins, holistic herbs and water and food in it for her.
NOTHING to keep my dog warm in the journey to dump off her dying body CAME WITH MY DOG.
She was haphazardly dumped off with the intake papers at the hospital stating that she was very "dehydrated" and in serious condition.
How does a beautiful, strong dog, after being in this Vet's possession for 6 days, become dehydrated and get worse [and NOT 'better' like this lying Vet would state over the phone to placate me].
NIGHTMARE.
This Vet is a grand manipulator. He is delusional, and will take you into his delusion and abuse you and your pet. He did this to me.
My dog, our beloved sweetheart, was dead within a few hours after she was dumped off at this 24 hour hospital when Dr. Lawendy clearly had gotten over his head and just wanted to pass the baton to someone else.
He later admitted to me, in a phone conversation after I was horrified at her death, he said he "knew he could do nothing more for her" ....BUT WHEN I ASKED WHY IN HECK DID HE NOT CALL ME TO TELL ME THIS INFORMATION AND GET MY DOG TO A REAL HOSPITAL.... he had nothing to say but more placating lies, very typical of the Narcissitic/Psychopathic personality disorder.
He takes no responsibility for the neglect he procured onto my dog.
He takes no responsibility for the lack of proper care for my dog, and to properly communicate honestly and professionally with the OWNER.
From the experience that I had in this horrifying time, Dr. Lawendy is clearly not a healthy person.
He caused my dog to get worse in his care, and does not care. He makes excuses and it is never his fault. Clearly, another Narcissistic/Psychopathic personality disorder trait.
My dog is dead. And I told him that he is 100% responsible for the abuse that caused her to get worse in his controlling, manipulative care.
The worst thing is not knowing how this wretched Vet treated my dog, and from what I saw when I finally got to the 24 hour hospital, I DID NOT RECOGNIZE MY DOG WHO WAS A LUMP OF CLAY ON THE FLOOR UNABLE TO LIFT HER HEAD.
I KNEW MY DOG WAS DYING.
I KNEW IT HAD BEEN A HORRIBLE 6 DAYS FOR HER.
I KNEW, WITHOUT A DOUBT, THAT THIS ARROGANT VET WAS A LIAR.
I KNEW THAT I HAD BEEN DENIED MY DOG, AND FROM SEEING HER, AND FROM EVEN VISITING HER, BECAUSE HE WAS INCOMPETENT BUT WANTED TO RUN UP A BILL WHILE MY DOG DESCENDED INTO A POINT OF NO RETURN AND GOT SICKER AND SICKER IN HIS NEGLECTFUL POSESSION.
This Vet has committed several crimes:
1.) Stealing my dog, and refusing to give her back and refusing/obfuscating the ability to contact him or his mobile unit to see my dog/take her back. This is Theft.
2.) Ignoring the direct orders of the Owner of the dog to NOT give her a very dangerous drug with known side-effects that actually CAUSE more problems for the ailing animal.
3.) Lying, misleading the Owner of the dog. AND screening calls to avoid the Owner while he had possession of my dog.
4.) Dishonestly telling me that he would send out her blood test to a specific Lab in California overnight to get a true diagnoses before doing anything, as per my direct orders. He NEVER SENT THE BLOOD TEST OUT, AND DOES NOT TELL THE OWNER THAT HE SKIPPED THIS IMPORTANT STEP IN MEDICAL CARE.
He later has the "excuse" [once again] that he "was busy" and "could not find a UPS store [with a chuckle]" .... Who finds this acceptable medical care?
5.) Now, to add to the list of criminal activity on this Vet's part, he takes the time to get to the Police in my town to manipulate them and file a report against ME, the innocent and rightfully angry Owner and Victim of his malpractice, and uses "Coercion" and "Intimidation" and outright creates a stupid, nonsensical parade of obfuscation with a CIVIL matter and not a police matter.
It is ME who needs to file a Police Report because he broke the law by stealing my dog, abusing me while having possession of my dog, and lying to me in order to keep possession of her.
6.) I now have a Civil Action against this wretched, blindly arrogant individual.
7.) I will now file a Complaint with the State Board for Disciplinary action.
And by the way, he has a record with the Board of being disciplined in the past. Not acceptable.
8.) To boot, he did this very deadly behavior with another family, whom I have been in touch with.
This Vet is so stupid and disorganized that he mistakenly sent this other family's law suit AGAINST HIM for abusing and neglectful behavior with their dog [who also ultimately died because of his malpractice.
This is a horrible story to tell.
But I hope that if my story can help another family and pet lover, then I believe it will have been a worthwhile Rip Off Report to save another animal from this horrible abuse.

- This Veterinarian should have his license revoked and he should be facing Criminal charges.
- He has the time to "Troll" the Internet looking for anything relating to himself YET when he literally takes a very critically ill animal into his care, and then outright abducts this innocent animal in need of urgent care, he could care less about fulfilling any Legal and Ethical [and MORAL] duties to both the LAW, THE DOG, AND THE OWNER OF THE DOG.
- He promised the Owner of this Dog, within 24 hours of taking the Dog into his care, that he would forward immediately x-rays and all file information to a SECOND VET whose Office Manager was waiting for this information.
- The Owner asked for this information to be sent to get a SECOND OPINION.
- Dr. Lawendy is so Narcissistic and downright Evil, that although he agrees to send the information, he just does not do it. Thus, he lies to the Dog Owner, the Client, and says "yes" to something that this Owner is insistent upon. But his "yes" is a placating answer that is a disguise for a big "F-U" attitude and he just ignores his Ethical and Fiduciary duty to do what ANY PROFESSIONAL WOULD BE GLAD TO DO GIVEN THE DIRE SITUATION WITH A VERY CRITICALLY SICK DOG.
- THE REQUEST WAS ON A THURSDAY TO SEND ALL X-RAYS AND LAB WORK, DAILY NOTES AND THE ENTIRE ELECTRONIC FILE... THIS WOULD TAKE 5 MINUTES OR LESS TO EMAIL? HE DOES NOT DO IT.
- FRIDAY MORNING: THE OWNER CALLS THE SECOND VET'S OFFICE AND THE OFFICE MANAGER SAYS THEY NEVER GOT THE EMAIL WITH ANYTHING WHATSOEVER. THE OWNER, NOW IN A PANIC, CALLS DR. LAWENDY BUT HE REFUSES TO ANSWER HER FRANTIC PHONE CALLS LOOKING FOR ANSWERS AS TO WHY HE IGNORED THIS URGENT ORDER TO NOT TREAT HER DOG ANY FURTHER UNTIL A SECOND VET CAN LOOK AT X-RAYS AND RECORDS.
- THE OWNER, A FEMALE, WHO APPARENTLY IS ONE TO BE ABUSED IN THIS VET'S EYES, CONTINUES TO 'SCREEN' CALLS AND HAS NO ONE ELSE TO ANSWER PHONES DURING THE DAY. NO OFFICE MANAGER, NO SECRETARY, NOTHING. TO BOOT, THIS VET IS MOBILE AND THE OWNER HAS NO IDEA WHERE HER DOG IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO BRICK-AND-MORTAR LOCATION THAT SHE CAN JUST GET HER DOG.
- Moral Character? Let's examine this. The Owner is frantic, calls the Second Vet and is in tears because she cannot get ahold of Dr. Lawendy for several hours on Friday. Then, in desperation, she calls her busy Executive Husband to finally contact this Vet because perhaps he will take a call from a phone number that he does not recognize. BINGO. He picks up the phone for my husband on Friday, now having our Dog since Wednesday, more than 48 hours.
- My husband politely tells him that he needs to contact me urgently. Dr. Lawendy also placated my husband and tells him that "he meant to call" and agreed to call me.
- TWO HOURS go by and I hear nothing from Dr. Lawendy! It is after 5PM and I am frantic.
- When he finally calls, clearly, not in a hurry to comply with the Law by sending Medical Records upon request, he is "lazy" and "non-urgent" in his attitude. This is when his games continue and the lies and outrageous unprofessional behavior intensifies.
- He agreed, that Friday afternoon, once again, to send the Records for our Dog Sophie so the Vet at a well respected Hospital can help us.
- HE DOES NOT BOTHER. AGAIN, HE OUTRIGHT LIES.
- WHEN ASKED "WHY DID YOU NOT SEND THE RECORDS ON THURSDAY?" HIS ASININE ANSWER, AGAIN, VERY BLASE' IN ATTITUDE, IS THAT HE IS "SO POPULAR" WITH BEING A MOBILE VET AND HE IS BUSY AND JUST DID NOT GET TO IT.
- AGAIN, SENDING ANY RECORDS IS A 5 MINUTE EMAIL.
- The TRUTH is that he knew he was in Violation of the Law by NOT bothering to write DAILY NOTES.... on a critically ill dog!
- Why did he torture the Owner like This? Is there any reason for this arrogant, disrespectful, outright unlawful and medical malpractice behavior?
- And he NEVER sends the records, by the way. He NEVER bother to takes daily notes.... for 5 full days in his care....
- AND he denies the Owner to see her dog, or even get her dog back.
- He placates, outright lies to me... and for What? To control and play mental games with someone who is desparate to get their Dog some help?
- The behavior here on Dr. Lawendy's part makes no sense.
- He also lied and told me that my dog "was getting better" in his care.
- Lie. Horrible Lie.
- She was getting worse, and I was never told that she was not eating [because of the drugs that I specifically told him that I did not want until I got a SECOND OPINION].
- He never told me that she would be carted around all day in his RV while he saw other patients, every day, while she had pneumonia [in the Winter].
- My dog suffered under the horrifying neglect, negligence, deception, and willful misconduct of Dr. Lawendy.
- My beautiful dog's dying body was dumped off at the Newtown Vet 24 hour care by a VET TECH, in the back of her SUV, on the morning of the 6th day.
- NO BLANKET [her blanket and warm jacket and her overnight bag with her food, supplements, etc.] were all missing.
- A very ill and weak dog with Pneumonia is carted without her jacket, or warm blanket that Monday morning, and he does not care. Not one ounce of care was in his voice when I saw my dog at the hospital, finally. She could not move, and she was exhausted and I knew that she had been horribly mistreated and outright neglected under Dr. Lawendy.
- There is no question in my mind that Dr. Lawendy is responsible for my dog ultimately dying within a few hours of her being so carelessly dumped off at the 24 hour hospital after the 6 tragic days in his "care" in his mobile setting, along with his outright negligence, arrogance, uncaring and totally medically unfit behavior.
- There are Clinical names for this behavior that only a trained Psychologist could diagnose. But it certainly is Narcissitic and Psychopathic by its very patterns and total lack of Empathy and lack of responsibility for what he had done to innocent Clients and their dog.
- No, abducting an innocent animal, neglecting her, and lying to the Owner and REFUSING [passive-aggressively, just not doing it yet verbally agreeing to it] to allow another qualified Veterinarian step in and give a second opinion is Malpractice.
- You do not get paid for Malpractice.
- You do not get paid for Negligence.
- You do not get paid for Torture of a dog [and their Owner].
- You do not get paid for Lying, Deception, and Outright refusal to cooperate with another Veterinarian.
- You do not get paid for Abduction of a Dog that belongs to good clients who were nothing but nice to you.
- You do not get paid for administering wrongful, seriously dangerous Drugs to a Dog when the Owner gives you direct verbal and emailed written orders to get a Second Opinion.
- You do not get paid for Screening Calls and ignoring the rights of the Owner and her Dog.
- You do not get paid for Malpractice.
- You do not get paid for Arrogance.
- You do not get paid for Violating the Law in every direction: NO DAILY RECORDS/CLINICAL NOTES, LYING TO OWNER, REFUSAL TO SEND RECORDS TO SECOND VETERINARIAN, FAILURE TO SEND BLOOD OVERNIGHT TO A LABORATORY [and giving the excuses that you "could not find a UPS Store]. Asinine.

It is quite unfortunate to have come across this report. There is so much that is wrong with the information in this report that one does not know where to begin. For the purpose of this response, this individual's identity will be kept in confidence, since there was an established client-doctor-patient relationship, and I am bound by legal and ethical standards to maintain this information in confidence. I will say that this individual has procurred my services on a number of occasions and for several pets with nothing but exemplary reviews and positive feedback. In fact, she became a client of my practice through the referral of another client, which has been the traditional method my practice has grown over the last four years. That being said, I can undoubtedly say, with undeniable proof, that the accusations made in this report are not only false and fabricated, but outwardly and intentionally inflammatory!
What is equally outlandish, is this individual's efforts at denying me the right to be paid for services rendered. Her pet amassed nearly $5000 in medical bills dating back to March 2017 and has completely avoided addressing the matter by not responding to electronic and telephone communications regarding the subject spanning nearly seven months! Additionly, it was I who initiated the civil suit in order to be remunerated for my services, not this individual, as she claims in her report. This is just one of many inaccuracies found in her claims. However, in an effort to further avoid her contractual obligations to pay for services rendered, this person hires an attorney in order to transfer the Small Claims Suit to the regular Superior Court Docket for fear that a decision made in Small Claims Court would be unappealable. Fancy lawyer tricks designed to thwart my efforts to be paid for my services, nothing more.
My practice has enjoyed consistent and positive growth over the past four years and has done so with the help of MANY exemplary reviews and feedback from my clients. One only has to do a cursory online search to verify this claim. No one's pets have ever been "hijacked", "abused", or handled inappropriately in any way, as this person claims; this includes her pet. I understand that losing a beloved pet can take an emotional toll on a pet owner. I also understand that, despite best efforts, not everyone is going to be satisfied with services rendered by a professional. However, this does not excuse an individual from being truthful, considerate and morally and financially responsible! Spreading lies and false statements, especially in the electronic world we live in today, is haphazard and potentially seriously damaging to a professional and their livelihood. Besides her criminal act of Theft of Services, this person has now exposed herself to civil legal ramifications for Defamation of Character, and I would highly recommend she be careful with her comments moving forward. I challange her to provide any shred of proof to support her accusations! I, ontheotherhand, have voicemail recordings, emails, witnesses and a medical record that speak volumes to the contrary of these accustions and claims! These are the same records and communications which I will share with both the legal system as well as the State disciplinary agencies when this individual files a complaint against me.
It is my understanding that the Terms and Agreements for this online forum REQUIRES that the information in a report be truthful. If this individual can not support these accusations with undeniable proof, I ask that this company remove this report from it's online resources. Thank you.
