Custom Design Landscape Update to Ripped off in Laguna Niguel Garden Grove California

This is an update to my original report from November 2014. It is now the end of February 2015 and the job is now complete. It took 9 months to finish a 3 week project.

It turns out that Gil Mawhinney is not the owner/operator of Custom Design Landscape he is the sales representative. William Bena Jr. is the owner.  Once Bill was made aware of our problems via the California State Licensing Board he came to the site and promised to make good on the project.  Bill's phone number was on the contract.  As we thought Gil was the owner we always called him on his cell phone, not the listed number on the contract. 

The fact of the matter is that from my perspective I was being ripped off at the time of writing the first review.  Needless to say lessons learned.
