Truth is:

Scam 1:
I bought a databases of BUSINESSES. Instead, many of the entries were
for charities, government offices, schools, churches and other non
profit organizations.

Scam 2:
john@company.com repeated 30 times

Scam 3:
john@company.com

johndoe@company.com

doe.john@company.com

Just like the email addresses in this example, many contacts have this sort of email addresses and, of course, forgery after forgery, they complete 1 million email addresses.

Many email addresses are random entries that are not connected to any company name or contact person, defeating the purpose of a list. In addition, email addresses are provided in a file that is separate from the file that contains contact names, so it takes longer to the database operator to merge it and figure out that it is a scam.

This kind of practice hurts the confidence of thousands of honest merchants who could, otherwise, receive emails that could help them in this bad economy. Instead, their in box could receive a swarm of emails from the same sender, converting honest and well intended companies into spammers.

The company hasn't done anything but send me the same file, over and over, as their way of fixing it. Their customer service operators keep referring me to the complaints department, whom I have previously emailed with no success.

I now have to salvage some information from this database and validate it, because I am afraid that some of the phone numbers and addresses are fake too.

Protect your business and your customers by avoiding these malpractices that hurt and prevent good business relationships from existing. Nobody likes spammers!
