I listed a truck for sale on Craigslist. A man who identified himself as Dylan Fisher responded. Over several emails he showed increased interest to the point of wanting to come and see the truck. It appeared to be genuine. Before he came however he wanted a background check done on the vehicle. He suggested cyclevinusa.com as a cheaper alternative to other services. He asked me to do the check and email him the report. He promised to reimburse me for the expense if he bought the truck. I went to website. It appeared legit so I did the report. With some difficulty I emailed the report/link back to Mr. Fisher. He responded that the report was misfiled somehow and asked me to contact customer service. There was no such notification from cyclevinusa. I became suspicious and started doing some checking. That's when I discovered many other complaints being filed with almost exactly the same story. Fake buyers lead sellers to the website to purchase the service. I do not know if the background check is legit. It is simply away to increase sales for the service. Since the last email I have not heard from Mr. Fisher again. This was the experience of the other complaints as well. I also notice that various variations of cyclevin have been used including cyclevin, cyclevinus, cyclevinusa. Beware, and do not fall for this scam.
