I was contacted by this company in August 2018 for event planning services the gentleman Jason contacted me to put together a conference and also a one night stay for 55 guest. I proceeded to contact several hotels and try to get a hold for a one night stay and also conference plans. when it was time to distribute money I told Jason that he would have to put a credit card down for the reservation he refused to use a credit card however offered to send me a large sum In the form of a certified check. I only asked for a certified check for the deposit for myself to begin work as well as the continual payments due to me which my total for my service was about 6000. I broke it up into three payments instead Jason sent one check for $10,000 and an additional check for $9000 to pay for vendors, the hotel, the conference and the planning fees. Once Jason told me to take my planning fee is out of the larger amounts I grew super suspicious. I took the checks to the bank consulted with a financial a banker they then looked over the checks found lots of errors and issues and at that time I severed my ties. I think fully I didn’t lose anything as far as money but it definitely sucked up a lot of my time and energy are going back-and-forth thinking that I was planning our conference when really I’m someone was trying to scam me. As an event planner I often do you get checks I am I’ve never had issues before so when I did take this check to the bank and the bank or found so many issues things were spelled wrong I’m certain like certified little stamps were right and so I definitely knew that I needed to go ahead and void the agreement and also sever my ties.
