Cynthia Mantalos her lying cost me $7,000 Charlottesville, Virginia

This woman, CYNTHIA MANTALOS, is a con artist extraordinaire.  I am aware of all the money she owes in personal loans, failure to pay rent, etc.  My OWN complaint is in the area of Dog Rescue.

In 2006 before she skipped town for New England, Cynthia persuaded me and a friend to rescue 29 dogs from a "high kill" animal shelter in SW Virginia.  This shelter was closing for two weeks to redo their floors and all the dogs were scheduled to be euthanized beforehand.  That much was TRUE.

She also told us that the Tonawanda SPCA in Erie County NY had agreed to take all of the dogs if someone could transport them up there.  So my friend and I rented a rather huge van to drive down to get them and then take them up to NY.  And we got a "frantic" call from Cynthia while we were driving back from SW Virginia that "the man in NY" had a sudden influx of dogs and couldn't take them right away, that we would have to wait a week.

Naturally we couldn't put up 29 dogs in our homes so we boarded the ones we were unable to take in ourselves.  FOR SEVEN WEEKS, Cynthia kept telling us either that she was unable to "reach" the man in NY, or that he was still too full up to take them yet.  She had always been rather vague about the exact location in NY but she slipped one night and I got enough information to call the man myself at the SPCA.

The SPCA man was speechless, and told me he hadn't spoken to Cynthia for months and that the last time he HAD spoken with her he had told her not to use him as a resource because he pulled dogs from the Buffalo NY shelter and NEVER had room for additional dogs.

Long story short, by the time that my friend and I found a place in Long Island NY that could take all the dogs and we transported them up there, our out-of-pocket expenses for boarding and transport were well in excess of $7,000.  All because of Cynthia's LIES -- she knew BEFORE SHE SENT US DOWN to SW VA that there was no place for us to take the dogs, and let it be OUR problem to deal with.  

In her mind, she RESCUED THOSE DOGS.  Which, fair warning to all, is HOW SHE LIVES HER WHOLE LIFE.  Do NOT get sucked in by ANYTHING SHE TELLS YOU!!!  Especially the poor woman in California who is dealing with her now!!!
