D & D Auto Sales is the worst and most dishonest car dealer I have ever dealt with.

I am 60 years old and have bought many, many used cars for ourselves and our 3 children over the years.

D & D sold us a LEMON for way more than they should have.  Not only was the car overpriced but I had major problems with the car within only a few days after the sale.

They took no responsibility however for the major problems that forced me to spend thousands
of dollars additional in repairs a week after buying the car.

Instead they were dishonest and were also VERY rude to me when I complained.

We ended up taking the case to the Department of Justice.

D & D was our worst experience in buying a used car.

Very untrustworthy people and business!

Don't twist your own words

“You need to read better; I said that we have bought many used cars in the past”

I can read just fine. You wrote, “I am 60 years old and have bought many, many used cars”, but later changed your story to include your husband whom apparently ran the show because it’s obvious that you acquired no knowledge from those previous transactions. It’s unclear why you claimed to have previous car purchasing experience since now you admit it was someone else’s experience.

Now you have a better understanding of the definition of an AS-IS sale. Happy motoring!

You need to read better; I said that we have bought many used cars in the past but this was the first time I had to do it by myself without my husband. Therefore, there is nothing contradictory in what I said.

Also, none of what you have said in your response gives you an excuse for the way you are cheating people nor makes any sense.

Always research prior to purchase

“took advantage of me as a woman”

That is a weak excuse for exercising poor judgment.

“I didn't check the price before the purchase of the car”

Is that also because you’re a woman?

“On top of being ripped off with the overpricing…”

Auto dealers are not obligated to observe Kelley Blue Book pricing; therefore, the cost was not a rip-off.

“Taking advantage of an unexperienced woman”, contradicts, “I am 60 years old and have bought many, many used cars”

With your level of experience you should have known to pay a trusted mechanic to perform a pre-purchase inspection of a ten-year-old vehicle.

What really happened.

Why did I agree to pay higher price? I was alone by herself as my husband was working on the east coast, and you took advantage of me as a woman. I never had to buy a car by myself in the past. I didn't check the price before the purchase of the car  ( which I should have ) with the blue book etc until after purchase when I had to face so many problems with the car soon after the purchase.  Regarding to your question: AS IS,   Who would have thought after paying $8,100 for a Honda 2005 according to the D & D dealer in excellent condition we would be dealing with all kind of problems including 2 times having to have the car towed a few days after purchasing it!  I would have understood and digested the term of " As is "  more if I had paid $ 2000 instead of $8000 for the same car in the same condition.

The first towing was 3 days after purchase and the second one 19 days after purchase and by the way I was NOT using the car for long distances at all.    The price for the car in excellent condition was $6,017 and it was NOT anywhere near excellent condition. I was told with absolute dishonesty that it was in excellent condition.

The price for FAIR condition was $4,028. What I ended up to get was in "POOR " condition which is even much less than that.  On top of being ripped off with the overpricing I ended up having to pay close to $2000 for towing and 3 times repairs all within 2 months of purchase.  Taking advantage of an unexperienced woman who just trusted your words and being DISHONEST is not the way to do business in the long term!!!!

Why Didn't You...

So then...the price was too high?  Why did you agree to buy the car if the price was too high?  They took no responsibility for the problems?  What does the warranty say?  Or...did you buy this car "AS IS"?  If you bought it "AS IS", why do you think you are ENTITLED to free warranty service?

Next time you buy a car, take somebody along WHO REALLY KNOWS what their doing!
