D & D Mechanical - Utah Appalling, Salt Lake City Utah

D and D Mechanical is one of the most horrendous companies, not only in skill but with regard to customer service and follow through that I have had to engage with. They were the company contracted to service our central AC through our home warranty and when they first came out to look at the compressor that wasn't working they re-attached a wire to our furnace and replaced a furnace filter. They left our home with our compressor working and AC running. Unbeknownst to us, this was actually the EXACT OPPOSITE of what should have happened as we learned when there was a GIANT pool of water on our basement floor by the furnace as a result of frozen pipes. What the D & D Mechanical contractor failed to inform us of (in his rush to finish the appointment) were 2 things. First, after replacing a furnace filter you should run the blower for at least a few hours if not overnight to ensure that the pipes don't freeze up and second, that we needed more refrigerant in our system. In response to this, we contacted both D & D and our home warranty company to have them come back out the following week to fix their initial faulty repair so that we could eventually run our air conditioner without fear of water damage to our home. Upon scheduling an appointment for the following week (with a 6 hour window) we reset our work schedules to work from home so as to be present when they arrived and not only did D & D Mechanical fail to show up during those 6 hours, but they failed to answer any of the phone calls we made inquiring on their whereabouts and their voicemail boxes were full so that we could not leave a message. Their response to our home warranty company as to why they didn't show . . . that WE missed the appointment!!! (Which is impossible since we were at home ALL DAY waiting for their arrival and they failed to answer a SINGLE phone call that we made to them.

In short, I am appalled not only at their incompetence in communicating with their customers about repairs and necessary protocol but even more so in their ability to conduct themselves with even a modicum of professionalism. If D&D is ever a company that is contracted to work with your heating/cooling system, RUN.
