Dad's Sports Room FRAUD, they sell "authentic" sports memorabilia with no proof of authenticity, despite what they say Lincoln Nebraska

I am subjected to daily email harassment. They use extortion tactics, saying that it will cost them $4000 to have comments removed.

And, by the way, incase anybody misread my original post; I interpret my item purchased as non-authentic, seeing how I do not have a COA card, as promised. I cannot speak for the rest of their items. However, after all of the drama they still cause, more than a year later, my OPINION is not to do business with them.


Latest email from Dad's Sports Room March 10, 2009:

"...people sued the owner of that website you posted on. That is why he is losing cases. Charging people $4000 to remove a comment is extortion. People sue him, and then sue the individuals who make the post. To post a statement, one needs to triangulate the data (taking your word for it, does not serve as three reputable sources). Your statement clearly states that I sell fake items, and that my friend is a slanderous statment, of which you HAVE no proof. You are entitled to your opinion as to our dealings, but you cannot comment on an items authenticity with a verification from reputable sources...I will put this in writing as have it serve as a contact. You get that comment completely removed, and I will get you a new COA, or pay to have the item authenticated by a third party such as PSA/DNA or JSA. A retraction, or follow up comment will not suffice. The comment must be completely REMOVED. However you do it, is up to you. This offer is good from today 3/10/09 until 3/31/09. On 4/1/09 my offer expires."

I wanted to share some of the emails Dad's Sports Room has sent me.

They brag about how easy it is to sue me:I do not have to leave home to sue you for your slanderous comments.

Even when I reply, saying I will post a retraction if I get what I paid for:

Offering to post a retraction on ripoff report is NOT going to cut it, as they will not remove the actual comment until I offer to pay the $4,000 If you want to save yourself a major expense, then you get the comment COMPLETELY removed from the site, and then and only then will I discuss with you the opportunity to obtain a new coa card.


This company has been nothing but trouble, so at least I'm having fun with the daily email I get from them. Can you believe RipOffReport.com has hurt Dad's Sports Room to the point they are trying to extort me. $4000If you want to save yourself a major expense, WOW!

Anyway, to explain the truth to their comments, I never, not from day one, ever said I had a COA. That is why I started complainingfrom the start. My boss was in my office when I opened it. We both searched and saw that it did not come. I certainly never would have thrown it away, or even say I threw it away. I never lost a dispute. I withdrew from PayPal because the OAG was involved...and still is. I never had a dispute with my credit card. Obviously I'm not being dishonest if I'm now fighting to get what I paid for, and went to the OAG.

Last, my opinion is not to do business with a company that states: action will be taken since we know who he is and where he lives, would you?

The individual who left the above "story" has elected to omit a number of key facts to make his side look better. Below are the facts that will shed the truth to this false allegation.

Fact #1: When the buyer emailed us, he indicated he received the jersey with the Tony Romo holgram, but claimed he did not receive a COA card for his jersey. A response was sent articulating exactly where the coa card was placed.

Fact #2: Upon receiving the information of exactly where the coa card was, the buyer indiciated that he must have thrown it away by mistake and then asked for us to send him a new card so he could resell the jersey.

Fact #3: We told him we would not send a new card out, but offered for him to return the jersey at his expense to be recertified at the next signing being conducted with Tony Romo.

Fact #4: The buyer refused to send the jersey back and demanded a new card

Fact #5: We indicated this was our policy to prevent dishonest individuals from obtaining a COA card and using it in an attempt to sell a fake jersey with a real coa card.

Fact #6: The buyer used vulgar language and threatened to contact ebay and his credit card company if we did not comply.

Fact #7: Buyer lost his dispute with BOTH ebay and his credit card company after we provided documentation of our shipping process (packaging each item with a mathcing coa card), and our offer to accept a return for recertification.

Fact #8: Only someone who was attempting to do something dishonest would refuse to send back the jersey for recertification.

Fact #9: We have established wholesale accounts with Steiner Sports, Tristar Productions, Upper Deck, Majestic, Rawlings, and Sports Images. The authenticity of our items has never been in question.

Fact #10: It is sad that one person believe he needs to spread slanderous statements when we confronted him about his potential wrong doings

Fact #11: The buyer assumed he could post a slanderous comment on this site and not be held accountable. Appropriate legal action will be taken since we know who he is and where he lives.

Fact #12: Any person who wishes to contact us regarding this false feel free to email us at dadssportsroom@nebbiz.rr.com. We will be happy to provide proof that ALL our items are authentic and come with the highest certificates of authenticity in the business.

To anyone reading the above comment, there are a number facts missing from his story.

Fact one: The email he cliams he sent the night of receiving the jersey actually came a week later.

Fact two: The Tony Romo hologram was affixed to the jersey, and the coa card he claims was missing was with the jersey.

Fact three: In subsequent emails outlining how the card was packaged with the jersey the buyer then indicated he must have misplaced the card and wished to have a new one

Fact four: I offered to have him send the jersey back at his expense to be recertified with a new hologram and matching coa card

Fact five: Buyer refused the offer to send the jersey back

Fact six: We believe the buyer was attempting to pull a scam and wish to get another coa card to put with a fake jersey and sell as an authentic

Fact seven: The buyer lost his dispute with both ebay and his credit card company when we could clearly show how all items are shipped with their coa card folded into the jersey

Fact eight: The post on this site is unverified (as required by law to allow such a post) and both the poster and the site owners are being sued for the slanderous statement

Fact nine: We have sold thousands of items from jersey, to helmet, to baseball, to game used memorabilia and have never had an issue regarding the authenticity of our items.
