Daimler Chrysler Service contracts requires you to pay a $200.00 deductable each and every time they repair your vehicle. This includes related problems to the same cause.

My air conditioning was not correctly repaired during the first visit to my servicing and selling dealer. A payment of $165.00 was made toward the deductabe responsibility. My a/c is still not working correctly, and another deductable payment of $200.00 will have to be paid to again try to repair the a/c.

Should this repair not correct the problem, another deductable payment of $200.00 will have to be made to my servicing dealer. This can go on forever at $200.00 a pop. I'm curious as to how much this a/c problem will cost me. The service contract cost me $1800.00 +/-.

After this repair, approx.20% additional of the total cost of the contract will have been paid in repairs.
Is the contract all it's cracked up to be? Could I have gone to my regular mechanic for the same repair for a lesser cost?

Only time will tell. This is a three year contract (or 45000 mi)

Will I end up paying the total cost again in repairs?
The vehicle is a 2001 Jeep Cherokee with 76000 mi. The hub bearrings have also been replaced ( common for Jeeps) at a cost of $700.00 +/- not covered under the service contract.

Think twice before purchasing a Service Contract through Daimler-Crysler. Read carefully.
