I was at college today, and I was still on campus when this very charming gentlemen walked up to me. He said he was selling Magazine's to earn points for a trip to London.
He kept talking to me, and he was so funny and very cute which helped his case, that's what he was thinking anyways. He said that he was Christian and that he had just gotten out of the military.
Being that I am also a Christian, I thought maybe I can trust this guy. He's funny, nice, handsome. He has fought for our country and for God, I thought why not trust him, he deserves to get his points for his trip.
He said that he only needed 4 more points. So I thought, why not? He deserves it. He told me to choose a magazine. So I did. He said at first that it was going to be only $17.00 and then all of a sudden when it came to check time, the price jumped up to $48.00 for just a 2 year subscription.
I wrote him a check and was on my way. Well on my way home, my Mom said that it was probably a scam and that I should cancel the check. So when I got home I looked them up online and found out that, yes, it really was a scam.
I never thought that would happen to me, let alone on my school campus! It was such an embarrassment and disgrace to God. He used me and my school. I hope this guy and his "sister" that was helping him out gets caught and put in jail.
