I made contact and bought a bike through craig'slist from George Berry, who said that he had moved to the U.K., but that the bike was in storage in Amarillo, so he was using an escrow service to handle the deal. This all sounded great. The,supposed escrow service, MoneyBookers LTD., offered free delivery, and a money back guarantee if I did not accept the bike.
The deal was to be paid through Western Union and made payable to a supposed agent of MoneyBookers, Daniel Edwards.
Everything looked very official with letterhead contracts and notification of receipt of money but since then, I have not heard back from my many inquiries. And of course ...no bike.
I am in for: $2580 for the bike, $135 to send through Western Union, and since I had to borrow the money in the first place, plus interest.
