With all due respect to the author of this post, the truth is that Danmer conducts yearly Title 19 tests on its Thermalite materials in coordination and review by the California State Fire Marshall. This is in addition to tests conducted by an independent laboratory called QA1, also coordinated for review by the California State Fire Marshall for Flame Resistance subject to Title 19, Section 1237.1 and for Flame Propagation, NFPA 701, Method 1. Thermalite Shutters pass these tests with flying colors year after year. The resulting test data is available to any customer who would want to see it, but of course, no one but a chemist or engineer would be able to make heads or tails of it. So we ALWAYS provide our customers with a Certificate given to Danmer by the California State Fire Marshall that demonstrates our passing of all these tests. BTW: Not only are Danmer Shutters flame retardant, but our paint and stain finishes are environmentally safe, non-toxic, water based, and low voc. All finishes exceed what is required by regulatory agencies AQMD for VOC emissions.
