i was hired a month ago as an usher for the le grande cirque show. i couldnt take the drug test due to a recognized condition called paruresis. i told h.r. about this. she said ok and shed look into another drug testing method. this was over a mo. ago! today,i went in to my usher job. guess what? i was fired form the entertainment dept! 2 days ago i was complimented on the great job i was doing! today, fired for discussing rude guests to co workers and managers where the guests never heard a word. no warning or anything! my work record there is very good. i was never rude to guests,managers or co workers! but yet i get let go? whats worse,i was never officially fired from the job. its because if i raised legal issues, all they have to say is im still employed,waiting for another dept to have an opening and call me! this reeks of something totally outrageous! i was complimented by guests on my courtesy and service. i basically got "fired" for discussing undesirable ppl in the park in the breakroom! DO NOT work for this park or any park owned by PARC, jacksonville,fla. they will screw you for any stupid reason! i was told by h.r. i cant file a formal complaint unless no other job was found for me. they wont find another opening,theyll keep me on their records,no job until the season ends in oct! next season. i know i wont get rehired like i have the last 2 yrs. sneaky bastards!!! i have been anti union much of my life. but i now believe in unions to protect the slaves hired by these evil greedy companies!
