Darren Brady Design Group Darren Brady Ran Away With Money and Never Installed Sign That He Was Contracted to Complete - FRAUD Bartlett Illinois

During the month of November Darren Brady contacted us out of the blue to install a sign. Our business was missing a sign and he stopped in to see if we could use his services. He pitched his services multiple times in a very persuasive and aggressive manner. He told us that he would be able to complete the sign in 4-6 weeks so we decided to hire him.

In December we formally hired him to build and complete our sign. In our written agreement that he signed it stated that the sign would be completed on or before February 14th, 2015. At the time he asked for a deposit of $3,050 to contract him and he assured us that the sign would be completed.

During the first 3.5 weeks after signing the contract  Darren Brady never contacted us or came by the business to work on the sign. During the final 2 weeks before the sign deadline we had to call him hundreds of times to get his attention. He would decline phone calls, not call back when voice mails were left, and if he ever did call back he would make excuses. His excuses were always that "he will be there tomorrow" this continued to happen for awhile.

One day he did come after numerous of phone calls everyday to pick up our old sign pole on which the new sign would be placed upon. This sign pole is worth a substantial amount of money and he has not returned the pole since. We requested repeatedly to return our money and the pole. but he continued to make excuses.

One day he called us and notified us that a village officer was going to come by to check the grounds where he was going to install the sign to make sure everything was okay with it. The village officer never came that day, so we contacted the village ourselves and they notified us that Darren Brady had never contacted the village for them to come out nor was the permit ever in place.

We continued to push him to complete the sign. In the meantime we checked on his credentials and found out that he didn't have a contractor license or insurance in place when he initally pitched us his services.

Finally, we retained a lawyer in which he sent out a letter to Darren Brady to install the sign or refund the money we gave him. Darren Brady reached out to us following the letter and cemented where the pole was going to be placed on the premise. He promised us that we would be the first priority since he had no other jobs and that the sign would be up by April 1st.

It is now June 1st and he has completely disappeared. He has taken our money as well as our pole for the sign.

This man is a compulsive liar that plays many games with his customers. He is a con artist that is just trying to take your money. Please be very careful and DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN because there is nothing good to come from him. This is the second report about him on this website and it's sad that he feels no sympathy for stealing money from other people.

The next step that we are taking is to file a lawsuit against him. He needs to face the legal system or I'm afraid this will happen to someone else.
