Oh boy and the beat go on. It was okay at first, even though I started out with a truck that had a computor glitch fromk the gate and a payment due the following week. Well, I managed to get through that first two weeks. It was business and at one time I had problems with my dispatcher not giving me miles when I had available hours. Or how about loads weighing in excess of 43k and knowing the type of cmv I leased wasn't up to that kind of payload. I had a toy truck, you know, girly truck. I got a truck that was previously owned, I worked for Dart for close to 2yrs. and that left me with 1.5yrs left on the lease. Well, that's when the real crap started.
All of a sudden I'd get qual calls asking me to stop and call in to safety. Most times, I'd be sleep when I'd be told they got a call from a motorist I was doing someting wrong. And one time I was stuck in a parking lot of traffic, when qual said to call in; so I pulled off and called in . Only to be accused again of safety violations, like reading a map while driving.
When they saw that wasn't working, they switched to trying to find errors on my logs; in almost 2yrs., 1 violation and that was because the time didn't change with the D.S.T, so it was off by a hour. When that did'nt work, they started not having any loads for my bottom line. I'd enough and told them the load I was stuck on for the weekend would be my last and bring their truck back. I quit. I delivered the load on time(100%) and bought truck back to terminal and went home to recuperate.
Later, I find out I was discharged for safety reasons. BULL. HAD 1 SPEEDING TICKET, never a safety violation given to me from them or any officer for anything, yet on my DAC there it is, and other employers look over me for employment from those bald faced lies on me. Couldn't provide sign affadavits from those callin motorist. I know if I'm going to ruin some ones career, I'd want to be able to back it up with proof. I got logs that show how many days I'd sit without a load and settlementsto show how they yanked my pay. DAC SUCKS! YOUR REBUTTAL MEANS NOTHING, potential employer assume the company(ies) are truthful and you're the liar.

Lets see Tammie, You live in Cali so you were not a local driver and were to new to be dedicated freight. So you either picked a region to run in or you were national. I am national i have went to the driver forums the company holds just recently in hopes that we as dart drivers can set the recored straight. The first thing is and read carefully.......
DART CHARGES A PER DAY PAYMENT FOR THE TRUCK A PER DAY THAT MEANS WHEN A DAY IS DONE YOU ARE CHARGED. NOT A WEEKLY CHARGE OR EVEN A MONTHLY CHARGE IT IS A DAILY CHARGE TOLD TO YOU SEVERAL TIMES AND WRITEN IN THE CONTRACT (READ ONE PLEASE BEFORE YOU SIGN IT) THEN YOU ARE TOLD A FEW MORE TIMES DAILY DAILY DAILY DAILY.
OK i hope that point was made. This charge adds up along with the other charges and they hand you a sheet that you fill out in orientation that explains all the charges that gets deducted daily and YOU FILL IT OUT not dart. Given just this information i dout you even were employeed by dart transit.
If you were a real lease contactor with dart then you would know that the LOAD PLANNERS GIVE OUT LOADS NOT DISPATCHERS infact they are no dispatchers with dart they are actually called fleet managers. All my fleet manager can do is email the load planner the fact that i need a load.
Lets talk about weight you do know the gvw of a truck and trailer combination is dont you?....... its 80,000 lbs amazing huh that means that your truck will haul up to the gvw. anyways lets subtract the 43,000 lbs you cant haul and lets add the 14,000 lbs a trailer usually weighs in at and the answer is
23,000 lbs left over. My truck with dart transit weighs in at 18,700 lbs (thanx bud for the bobtail weight) with half tanks i have easly hauled 46,000 lbs usually beer loads.
Finally This really makes me laugh and its a toss up between the fact that you thought you were given a "safe" speeding ticket or the fact that you dont understand that speeding is unsafe. Hence being discharged for safty wow i wouldnt have figured that one. I really dout that one speeding ticket would get you discharged my money is on your poor attitude about everything.

I have been leased to Dart for some 5 years now,I have friends here too,and let me tell you,life in the trucking industry is never easy,being profitable is always a challenge,and frankly not all people are cut out to be in an owner leaser operator status,I have seen many women in the company,blacks and hispanics,some thrive, some come with the wrong expectations,so as far a filing a complaint with the EEOC,good luck in proving your case,as far as your truck goes,the problem is that some people come unprepared to throughly inspect the truck,which the contract lets you do,some come unprepared to run the miles,in my experience and to be fair to Dart,they will try and do their best to keep you productive,and it is your duty to stay legal,they will go the extra mile to help you stay compliant,but if you want to cheat,they may not catch you inmediatly but in time if they do,they will deal with you accordingly....
So I am filing this rebuttal because the original report was unfairly criticizing a fair company,yes there may be a**h**es in the company,but that is not at it s core,bottom line is:it is a company for grown ups,and it is expected from us to act and work as such,we don t always get the freight we want,but that is the nature and the consistency of our status,unless you go totally independent,you will always be relying on a dispatcher or load planner who has to fill the needs of the shipper,if you are an experienced ownner you ll do ok, perhaps thrive,generally there are no guarantees in our industy,so it s 2 way street do your best and they ll do their best for you.

AND I WOULD GET A LAWYER WHO WORKS WITH DISCRIMINATION AND EMPLOYMENT LAW. IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T HEARD, PRESIDENT OBAMA ( GOD BLESS HIM!) HAS MADE IT EASIER FOR WRONGED EMPLOYEES TO FILE SEXUAL AND RACIAL DISCRIMINATION LAWSUITS AND IT SEEMS TO ME YOU HAVE BOTH.
TRUCK DRIVING COMPANIES AND PRIVATE SECURITY GUARD CONTRACTING SERVICES SEEM TO LOATHE WOMEN --ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AFRICAN AMERICAN OR OVER 40 OR NATIVE AMERICAN OR MEXICAN AMERICAN!I GUESS IT WILL TAKE A LOT OF CIVIL RIGHTS AND EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION LAWSUITS TO GET THESE SORRY AMERICAN CORPORATIONS TO SHAPE UP AND STOP DOING THIS STUPID, DISGUSTING STUFF!
