When my HD failed I responded to their $299 promo and received a shipping label from them. The written estimate was strangely garbled but included numbers 299 and 1900 so I called. I was told the estimate was $985, based on damage which was in precisely the language of the other posters to this site.

I told them to ship it back as it was too high.

1 week later I called to check status and was told by someone identifying himself as Dan Melnick that most of the work had been done as part of the estimating and asking what would I be willing to pay.

I had another estimate ($385) but told them I would give them the business if they would come in under $425, all told including shipping.

Dan checked with his manager, who okayed the deal and sent me a request for $149 for parts and a form to authorize the work with requested fax info.

I paid the charge with credit card and faxed authorization, then approx. 2 weeks later followed up and was told they hadn't received the authorization so couldnt' tell me status. I refaxed authorization.

For last week, I have made repeated requests (calls and emails) for status update with no response.

Needless to say I am very concerned.
