I've worked 13 years in the IT industry and unfortunately have had a need for such data recovery services about 4 times. The one thing I can say is that each time we've had to pay for it it's been expensive and still is.

We recently came across a $299 data recovery advertisement by DB Investments ,Data Recovery Corp , Califronia DataCorp or Data Recovery Ohio (they seem to have and operate under many monikers) only to send in our drive to find out it really wasn't anywhere near the advertised price.

These guys are pure fraudsters with horrible customer service and aren't worth the $1700.00 they tried to scam me out of and I recommend staying away.
