I cancelled this before I was ever charged for it but they charged my debit card anyway. I tried calling their 888 number and kept getting a busy signal.

I sent several emails asking for my money to be refunded and no one answered any of them.

I finally sent them and email that I would expose them any way that I could. So if anyone has any ideas please forward them to me.

Any reputable company would refund with no questions asked as I told them in the final email

We got our money back

AUTHOR: Sundevil97 - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, October 02, 2009

We were able to get not only the $7.95 but the $197.00 back from data money online. This is a shady scam, we had to threaten legal action against them not only by them but via our bank. Keep harrasing them via email, phone, etc you will get your money back.  Remember in most states if they do not have a physical signature it is not a valid contract.

Best of luck.

My wife fell for the same scam, signed up only to realize it was a scam. We contacted the companies customer service number. They said that we would have to send in an email to the refunds dept. I did this, got an email back stating it clearly states that were to be billed $197.00 if we didnt cancel within 24hours etc etc.

I again stated that we signed for nothing, and that we have no knowledge of the company that is listed as debiting our account. Luckily the charge is still showing as pending and if it does go thru my bank Chase has informed me that we have a fraud case as were being billed by a different company then the one my wife signed up for.

As of today I have recieved an email stating that they will return my funds in full.

Not sure if its going to happen but remember in most states if they dont have a physical signature they dont have a leg to stand on.

Keep fighting these blood sucking thieves.

datamoneyonline got you too huh???

I've gotten that same exact number and the same response. So what I did was, contact my bank. See you signed up to datamoneyonline, but your bank was charged by data direct. after it was withdrew from your account your supposed to have your bank dispute it. Since the company is a scam and isn't legit, it is easy for you to dispute it through your bank. The only thing that can save us from B.S. like this is first, (the one we all know yet, you and I both fell for it.) if its too good to be true, blah blah blah you know the rest. 2nd thing we can do is look all over the web page to see if there is away to contact them, try to contact them before signing up. Third, is what  I did. I called my bank and acted as if I never heard of Data Direct (which isn't a lie because I signed up to datamoneyonline and not data direct) and had my bank dispute it. now I just signed up yesterday so the money is already coming out of my account tonight. But I've already spoke with my bank and I will have to call them tomorrow and have it disputed. The only number that my bank has is that 888-817-2919 number. If we can't contact them, then the bank shouldn't be able to and therefor won't be able to verify the transaction.

I think thats the only life line we have, it was all done over the internet and card information is stolen all the time. Anyone can use our debit card # but not our signature. So I'm just treating this as if someone just stole my information. I canceled my card already and having them send me a new one next week. I'll try to keep everyone posted on the outcome. One more thing, next time you sign up, use a pre-paid credit card like from amscot. let's see them try to keep withdrawing money from a pp cc that has no more money on it.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE for all those who have been ripped off by DATAMONEYONLINE! I have good news for those who thought they had lost their $197. for good. On May 23rd I connected with WWW.CPIPAY.COM (this web address does not appear on Datamoneyonline's website - I found it on my credit card statement and tried it!)who is the company that processes the payment for the Datamoneyonline scam. I explained how and why I felt I had been scammed. I first got a notice that my claim was being investigated and this morning, only three days later, I get a message from them saying that my Datamoneyonline had been cancelled and that my credit card had been credited with a FULL REFUND! So it looks like Commercepayice puts their money where their mouth is! So to all of you who have been defrauded by Datamoneyonline I urge you to write go to www.cpipay.com and explain how you were grossly misled by Datamoneyonline and GET YOUR REFUND! Bravo Commercepayice!

NOTICE TO SCUMBEEZLES (you know who you are... you scream "Foul!" when the truth comes out)

PLEASE READ THIS LEGAL NOTICE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU FILE A LAWSUIT OR EVEN WASTE TIME THINKING ABOUT IT. It has been done before, but never successfully. In fact, the last dodobird who tried it ended up being ordered to pay more than $77,000 in attorney fees ($65,000+ to my attorneys and $12,000+ to my co-defendant's legal advisor). If your attorney is worth his salt, he's going to tell you that the expense of filing a lawsuit you can't win is a whole lot worse than any "damages" resulting from messages posted on this insignificant little chunk of cyberspace. NEWS FLASH: I didn't just climb down off that ol' turnip truck yesterday. I'm well aware that expressing a negative opinion, relating one's personal experience, and restating provable facts are all legal in this country and do not constitute libel, slander, or defamation -- so you don't want to play games with me, and you sure don't want to start something you aren't prepared to finish. I don't take threats lightly, and I don't accept bribes (or did you call it a "mutually-beneficial arrangement"?). I'll turn you in faster than you can yell, "ARREST ME, I'M SCUM!!" Do yourself a favor and turn your legal team loose in greener pastures.

You are likewise prohibited from posting any false claims against any company or individual. We will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of anyone posting any such information or materials. If you cannot accept or agree with the terms of service for this website and discussion board, you are advised not to post on this board.

In closing, I would like to remind you once again that it is still legal, in this great country of ours, to express a PERSONAL OPINION, as long as it is presented as opinion and not as fact. And finally, all you scammers out there will do well to remember that TRUTH IS AN ABSOLUTE DEFENSE against charges of libel, defamation, and slander... so if you're operating just a hop, skip, and jump ahead of the law, you might want to think twice before doing anything stupid...

(AND SHAME ON YOU!!).
