I got a call from a repo agent stating he was looking for my 2015 camper trailer. I then try to call the credit union to find out what is going on. I spoke to a collector and then her boss and this is what they confirmed. I stand 31 days deliquent from their records. They state that my payment cant be made unless I pay an estimated 2000.00 dollars for repo agent fees etc. IF YOU DECIDE TO BANK WITH THESE PEOPLE KNOW HOW THEY OPERATE. I recently moved to Destin Florida and have not recieved any statements or any letters from them regarding anything like a Repo. THIS REPO MAN HAS CALLED COUNTLESS TIMES TODAY TO LOCK UP MY PHONE. This was the most unprofessional experiences I have ever encountered. I hope that other consumers report this type of activity to help build a class action lawsuit against DATCU for ilegal collection methods by their agents. Please share your experience with me. I noticed they had 4 BBB complaints that I could find. Doesnt suprise me. My experience with this company has been SCARY to say the least.

Sorry to hear about your situation but...

The finance company has the right to repossess your vehicle. Because you bought it in Texas, it meant that the creditor has lawful right to repossess the vehicle once you are "late" in your payment regardless the length of late time. Whatever the process of repossession should be written in the contract you signed with them. You need to pull out the contract and read it. If it doesn't say anything about you paying the repo people in order to reinstate the contract, maybe you could negotiate with the creditor using the contract. Otherwise, you are out of luck.
Another thing, the behavior of repo company isn't illegal so far from what you said unless you retain a lawyer (which I doubt you did). You did owe them money. We don't know whether you contacted USPS and them for your change of address because you simply said you didn't get mails from them. If you simply moved without doing the change of address, then again it is your fault.
Overall, the report is not complete and there seem to be your own fault rather than the debtor or the repo people. You need to fix yourself first before you can really report what's wrong with others.

Boo h*o! YOU fully admit being late. Therefore YOU turned on the collections machine! If YOU don't like the consequences of YOU turning on the collections machine, then pay your bills on time! Guess what? That works all the time! Let me save you some effort. Don't bother writing back, "you must work for them". I'll save you the trouble! I don't!
