I paid Mike Moore of Daulton Contrsction $11500 (50%) to construct an outdoor kitchen and bar.  He intially was very responsive.  After the the first week or so he became unresponsive or lied about when he would be back out to complete the job.  I was quote 3 weeks to complete, now we are into week 9 and he has not been on site in 3 weeks.  I also paid him around 3K for upgarded granite and another 1500 directly to his mason.  He never paid the granite yard or the fabricator for the granite and did deliver the Primo Smoker, Ice maker and refridgerator.  So now I am trying to get the job completed myself!  Do not work for, extend credit to or use him for any project!

Clarification

Mike more took 11200 for down payment on Aug 6th.  Promising work to be done in 3 weeks.  I asked for an upgraded grante which I paid an additional 2300 plus 625.00 for partial payment for installation of a spiral staircase, which was never speced out so I coulld purchase.  Mike was also supposed to go to the city to check on permitting, but that did not happen either.

I also paid for $1500 to the mason.  The mason was to be paid the balance of moneyed owed by Mike Moore the following week.  He was never paid.  At that point Mike would not respond to texts, emails or phone calls.  I paid a total of 15700 for cinder block, brick, a grille and doors and trash can.   I gave him time to repond but he never did commit to finishing the job.  He never purchased the ice make, refrigerator, or Primo grille.  I also had to pay for the granite and fabrication and installation a second time.

Mike quoted a drain, and 2 addional outlets but only put in one outlet and no drain.  The only change that was made after the original bid was to have the celing fans raised up and the upgraded granite, which was paid for. I would have like for him to complete the job, but received zero feedback after September 18th.  I texted,  emailed , called and went by his storefront only to find it closed down.  My husband also tried to contact him but got no response. This complaint is not just about money, but the inconvience of not having a job being done in the scheduled time and the total lack of commmunication and responsiveness.

Construction was done false report

AUTHOR: Mike - (USA)

In response to this report.  This outdoor kitchen was L-shaped a total 26 lin. ft. long and was totaltly completed with the exception of the upgraded granite countertops. All plumbing was conected and ran 80 ft to the kitchen area as well. We also constructed and completed an additional 4ft wide x 9 ft long oval shaped bar area that seats 8 with the exception of the upgraded granite countertops.

These were built with cinder block walls then faced with stone, all of that was done. We were asked to do some additional electrical work, run lines for outdoor tv, cut and raise up 2 ceiling fans 3 ft. etc. The money that was giving extra was applied to this. We also painted the underside of the top deck which I was charged $1,200.00 for.

Also all contractors were paid by me, I did ask her to pay one sub contractor a partial payment because i could not get to the job site on time and that would be deducted off the final payment. They were paid in full by us. This was a $24,000.00 contract of which $ 13,000.00 was paid to us. The granite countertops quoted in the bid was for a level 1 granite or an allowance of $45.00 per sq. ft.  The granite she picked came to $125.00 a sq. ft. No go.

We delivered a total of Over $5000.00 worth of fixtures for the kitchen, i.e. the grill, doors, drawers, pull out trash can drawers, sinks, ex large doors. All rock, cinder block, appliances, electrical, plumbing was paid for and delivered to the job site and installed by us. That leaves a balance on the table of $11,000.00 for the customer to work with that WAS NOT COLLECTED BY US, but all of the work was totally done except for the granite countertops.

Also the allowance for the smoker, ice maker and small under counter fridge are $3000,00.I know for a fact that $11,000.00 will more than cover these expenses with plenty left over. When a customer starts contacting our sub contractors directly, and making changesdirectly with them instead of dealing with us, well we decided to part ways with everything completed up to that point. We walked away and left plenty of money on the table.
