At first I believed I had a pleasant experience with David Bruce Auto Center. I don't have the best credit so I was originally glad to find out they were able to help. I got everything lined up to get a replacement vehicle and went on my way.
I had my vehicle for a few days when I received a call from the salesman at David Bruce, telling me I had to resign paperwork; they had forgotten to offer me a warranty. When I went in, I signed the paperwork needing to be signed, my co-signer went in again as soon as she was able and I later found out that gap insurance was added.
After about a month, I had yet to receive a statement for my first payment. I called the dealership and they informed me that the financing department had taken too long to get the paperwork to Toyota Financial. A new contract was being drawn up to change my payment date, but because my and my co-signers signature was on file, we did not need to come in to sign anything else.
When my car was REPOSSESSED because there were still no statements being sent to me, I found out from Toyota Financial that I was listed as the co-signer and my [should have been] co-signer was listed as the primary buyer. That person hadn't received statements either, so now we both have a major hit to our credit because of this mess. Getting to work has been a nightmare and trying to get a new car has been an even bigger nightmare!!

The complaint has plenty of merit. They also changed the terms on a loan for my wife. They changed the terms on the contract and then forged her signature. My suggestion is to just do not do business anywhere in Kankakee County. They are all part of the same click, club, whatever you want to call it and that includes the court system....best to just stay away. The entire county is corrupt.

No matter on thin you make a pancake there are two sides. During these ecomonic times good people make bad decisions and blame the car dealer. I have experienced David Bruce Toyota and find them to be a cut above the rest. Over a decade everyone held David Bruce as the ones to beat. The customer had a bad experience because , as she said bad credit and co-signors, she felt a multi million dollar business puposely went out of their way to do her an injustice. Obviously, she has made a lot of bad decisions prior and she is looking for others to blame. I researched a lot of dealers before I made my decision and David Bruce came out on top without question! Please re think your life instead of putting it on the Internet for everyone to see your dirty laundry.

As you read this, please take note of the first customer testimonial written below. Yes, it's from the same person (Stephanie Bach) that wrote this complaint!! It's interesting to hear this complaint after we go above and beyond to do everything we can to help her get a loan for a new car after her SUV had body damage from an accident. We overcame many credit obstacles only to have her own family member toss out paperwork and billing statements mailed by the lending company to the house!! This was stated to us by Stephanie Bach herself since she mentioned her mom not co-operating and throwing away any paperwork mailed to her house!!
After investigation, we found no basis to support this complaint. We have served the community since 1987 and have a long, outstanding relationship with our customers. As a FACT, we are among the top in the MidWest Region with our CSI (Customer Service Index) where a 3rd party surveys customers that have purchased vehicles here at David Bruce. As there are many elements during the vehicle purchase we take pride in integrity and doing everything possible for the customer to have the most positive experience. Many of our customers come to us for the ease of doing business without games and gimmicks.
