My wife and I purchased a new construction home in October 2008.  3 months later our backyard was flooding and we had to install drains on both sides of the house.  We still have soft ground in the backyard at times and the yard stays wet.  Some of the brickwork on one side of the house was replaced by Warranty about a year ago as the mortar was falling out of the mortar joints.  The brickwork on the entire house is wavy, misaligned and in some places the bricks are chipped or missing mortar.  There are shingles laying on top of my roof  that have come lose and I was told by our warranty person that the roof only has a 1 year warranty.  the house is only 3 years old.  We have also had warranty service numerous times due to poor cooling and failing parts in the a/c system.  The boards on the privacy fence in my back yard are coming lose and on the verge of needing repair.  The turntable in the microwave is broken.  The bronze finish on my shower in my master bath is peeling off again since it was replaced once allready under warranty for the same issue.  I have had to replace the side exit door from my garage to the backyard because the bottom rotted out of it.  We have also had trim fall off of my leaded glass front door.  We purchased a David Weekley home because we were promised a quality home by the sales staff and the marketing they use is pretty good.  I would  NEVER buy a David Weekley Home again....EVER!!!  BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Work in Progress!!!!

AUTHOR: Bryan Scott Buteaud - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, November 18, 2011

Shortly after I posted this report, I contacted the David Weekley Home Warranty Person to discuss all of my issues. To my surprise it was a different person than we had over the past 3 years. So far she has gone out of her way to make sure that all of my issues are resolved to my satisfaction. They bought in a new pallet of brick and replaced the crooked brick, they fixed my fence, my roof and there are a few issues left that have not been fixed yet to date. I am regaining faith in DWH Warranty and hope that they finish as I believe they will.
