I agree completely with the previous reports on David Werner International. I too, unfortunately must confess, have been swindled by this slick operation for $20K +. I too heard the stories about David Werner International helping executives allover the world. He actually states this in his video on their website.

At the time I also asked for references and promptly got three names to call.

As one would expect they were all positive, after all they would not give you a name, of presumably a real person, who they swindled. Perhaps I should have asked for names of people who have not been so happy with their service. After all they have been doing this for 30 years at a rate of 8 10 clients per month.

Just the laws of probability would dictate that some of these approximately 100 plus clients annually would be satisfied, some would just rather forget and others may simply be embarrassed and not eager to share the experience. After all, all they lost is time and money. Before the existence of the Ripoffreport.com, the scammed would have no way of exposing the operation.

They are certainly masters at what they do and without exception before they put their hand in your pocket they make sure you signed an agreement designed to protect them. Their stories got me to sign one and I would suspect that all of their clients, without exception, have signed such an agreement.

Before you do business with them, rent and enjoy the old 1973 movie The Sting. You will enjoy the movie and, as a bonus, will get some perspective within the David Werner International operation.

I only wish that Ripoffreport.com existed when I was swindled. At the time I remember searching on Google and finding absolutely nothing about David Werner International except for their website. At the time I remember it seamed quite odd to not finding anything about them. It should have been a big red flag after all in 30 years of doing this, there must have been happy, unhappy and indifferent clients. The simple laws of probability would dictate that. It was quite strange to find absolute silence and lack of any information.

I Don't Know If I Would Sweat It Too Much David....

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 10, 2008

The OP in this post clearly does not understand the difference between a "headhunter" employed by a placement agency and an agent, such as yourself, who represents the individual - much as a professional athlete is represented by an agent. The difference is who pays the fee. The OP is under the belief the company you were negotiating with would pay the fee. They don't in your case, just as the team the professional athlete plays for would not pay the fee; the athlete would pay the fee. As long as the individual read the contract signed with you, there should not be any misunderstandings - or so I would think.

I personally have met agents such as yourself out here in CA and while I prefer not using them because the salary differential between what you could get for me and what a "headhunter" could gt for me in a role like mine would not equate to $15K-$20K per year, or even 2 years. I understand your role and in an upper management role, it makes a lot of sense to utilize someone in your capacity.....

David Werner's Rebuttal

AUTHOR: David Werner - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 10, 2008

David Werner International has reviewed the allegations posted by this individual because we take each and every one of them seriously. For every posting, we search our records to discover who the individual is and respond on a case-by-case basis. Like most of the postings about our company on this website, it should come as no surprise that this complaint by an alleged client is fictitious. David Werner International has no client with these initials. However, we would direct your attention to a recent update to a posting dated July 7, 2008 which now states the following:

On July 7, 2008, I submitted a posting under the name agray, redding connecticut that included certain statements which were of a negative nature concerning David Werner International Corporation and David Werner. It was never my intention to defame David Werner International Corporation or David Werner. Therefore, I have voluntarily decided to withdraw the previous posting. Unfortunately, ripoffreport.com will not do so based on its policy of only allowing retractions, rather than withdrawals, of previous postings. Therefore, without admitting liability and with full knowledge that I am entitled to defend myself and the statements I made previously, I am formally retracting the entire statement. I have not been paid for this retraction and make this statement of my own free will and accord.

I hereby state that David Werner or David Werner International Company is not to blame for my employment situation and I further state that David Werner International is not, as I previously posted, a slick con artist organization and/or swindles people out of their money.

I will also note that I was specifically informed in writing and orally that various factors affect the marketability of a specific candidate, including the economy and the personal chemistry between the candidate and the employer. David Werner International carried out its duties as described in the agreement between Gray and DWIC competently and with diligence. It performed the research to target certain venture capital and private equity firms and then drafted correspondence to these firms on my behalf. Accordingly, David Werner International did everything it was obligated to do under the above agreement to market me to prospective employers.

Therefore, I retract the statements in the posting dated July 7, 2008. I also apologize to David Werner and David Werner International for posting these statements and the resulting consequences of my actions.

Alexander Gray
Redding, Connecticut

Suffice it to say, David Werner International intends to avail itself of all legal remedies and will pursue the individuals who seek to slander our company with false and untrue allegations.
