4/8/08 - I was leaving OSH in San Jose Westgate when dark grey Ford Explorer with 4WD on the back hatch stops me with guy in his 30s, black crew cut, blue eyes, wearing dark blue striped suit and light blue tie. He gives me the following story: Italian, can't speak much English (showed Italian Passport), has to catch a SFO plane and some bimbo maxed out his credit cards at a party after he had shown his wares at Santanna Row. Had 4 black leather jackets and a brown suede one. Had glossy magazine showing models wearing each of the garments. Said he had rented the explorer and needed $700 to pay for it before boarding plane.

I escaped him after buying the "suede" coat for $50 and he drove off.

WOW - what a scam! He had glossy magazine, passport, 2 Italian AMEX cards in his name (one expired, the other one expiring next month), a copy of a car rental agreement. I looked in the rest of his Ford Explorer when I first tried to escape him and he had a blanket over some stuff (4 more coats?) in the back but otherwise the SUV only contained him and the 4 coats and a shopping bag which he kept putting the coats into.

He did a great job of feigning limited English, too.
