Dead Box Shipments. This is a new scam, well actually its an old scam, but vastly changed and is effecting many people in the USA. A Dead Box Shipment, is any type of box, envelope, package that you have paid for that got shipped from a fake address, and no real information on how to send it back once opened. With our new president putting the brakes on, in cheap inports, many companies who are bailing who would sell on many auction websites, are trying to steal your hard earned cash. And they are using out own countrys laws against us which makes it worse. This is what they do. Lets say you find a $4,000 TV for $500 on an auction website. It says 20 are left. You also see their ratings are 98% Posative so have nothing to lose. Guess what, this is how they get you. They ship the item to you fram a fake address (Not to be confused with drop shipping) You get the box and open it to find absolutely nothing, or maybe a $3.00 radio. You go to your bank and fill out the paperwork to do a chargeback. Month down the road, your bank contacts you to let you know they ruled in the sellers favor because they provide a tracking number that shows you got the item. These type of ripoffs are extremely hard to recover, and many a times court is needed. Lets say you contact the seller, they tell you to ship the item back. This is where this free shipped item, now costs you $300+ to ship back.

If an item is left on your door step, if the shipper is about to drop a shipment off, do not sign for it. Look at the return address, look it up, does it go to a rela location? Does it show a farm on a map or just a plain field? If so, refuse it immidiately. Do not open that box, as much as you want that $4000 tv for $500, Im sure you dont want to be suckered out of $500. Dead Box shipments have increased a lot recently. I went to buy 5 security cameras recently. The prices were fantastic. But then the box came and 5 cameras that are 5x4x7 will never fit in an 8x8 box. Even if unboxed. The box that came you can hear broken glass inside. Not glass you would hear from a broken lens, but heavy bottles. I refused it and my mail carrier knew immidiately it was a DBS. The address on the box went to this location:

Notice its a field with not even a building in site, and the only thing out there is just a shipping company. Moment the tracking updated to refused, my bank gave me my money back and even sent a similar report like Im doing here to their loss prevention. These people use our own tracking numbers to scam us. Don't let them. If the box is too small, the weight is off, the address is fake, send the shipper packing and dont accept it. If it got dropped off while your not at home, call them back up to refuse it. DONT OPEN IT AT ALL COST. If the mailman or whatever carrier wont stick around so you can verify the address, ask them if you can send it back if unopened. If not, refuse the item. Trust me, you dont want that feeling as if you swolled your own heart opening a box that gave  you a gut feeling you should have refused. The two people who tried ripping me off, they keep sending me emails they will refund me after they get their shipment back. They knew what they did, and so did my bank, and because I refused it, they charged the sale back. These people know what their doing, and if your not cqareful, the laws ment to protect us, are going to help them instead. Something else to look out for. If your buying something that says its located in a certain state, certain town, and it ships from a totaly different location, and that locations address is fake, make the shipper take that item back. Also, do not wait for them to refund you your money. The moment you find even a spelling error, or a US company turns out to be in another country, contact your bank immidiately!!!!!!! Get the paprwork going because you have only 2 months to do a dispute, and these fake companies are hoping you wait it out. Why do you think many stores now a days give you up to 90 days to return an item. Some states give you 3 months for a dispute. They give you this time because they know you will do a chargeback. Dont be fooled by a DBS.
