I try very hard to avoid these smooth folks every time I go to the mall, but this time this young man had a small take-away sample.  I thought I could get away with that, but then, like a fish on a hook, he got me to come into the kiosk and try a salt scrub on my hand.  These fellows, claiming to be from Israel, are slick.  Tell you that you are beatiful, that their products will make this or that line disappear, etc. etc.  I liked the salt...my hands were dry from working in the yard and the pool. They felt good and I actually thought I'd like to buy the product.   And he had me.  Next thing I knew he was sitting me down and putting cream on my crows feet, filling the scowl mark I've had on my forehead for 35 years and putting some firming lotion on that warmed up and "tightened" my skin.  I said I didn't have the money to pay for it, which I really don't as I was just coming from a jeweler after selling a gold bracelet for next weeks food money.  He's telling me that these products sell for hundreds of dollars, and I would stand up to leave and he would say but for you....its less.  And before I knew it I had four full sized jars of g**k and I was forking out $300 in cash.  He even asked about my kids, got me to show him pictures of my oldest daughter and asked for her phone number.  All with a sweet smile, a connecting gaze and a gentle touch as he smeared this crap on my face.  As I have read elsewhere, he started bundling product and showed me the computer screen and how he was giving me these deep discounts.  And like a stupid American, taught to be polite, I didn' question him at all and parted with my cash.

I didn't even get out of the mall before I felt bamboozled, so I sent my son back with the bag and the receipt to ask for my money back.  No refunds.  I feared that if I went back, he'd sell me more!

I looked the products I purchased up on Amazon....Nothing was over $100.  And to be specific, the Eye serum I paid 199.99 for...sells for $80.00 on line.  The salt scrub I originally liked, was also going to be $199, and on Amazon, its $26.80.

I bought something like this a long time ago and have avoided these folks ever since.  But the hook this time was the tiny "free: packet of hand lotion.  Who can resist free?  And come on...haven't we all wondered just a little bit about these Dead Sea products?  These folks are professionals...they know our buttons, and are brazen hustlers to the worst degree.

Keep walking...experiment by buying a few things on line.
