The Bay View Law Group from what I can tell is working with the Remedy Group as part of their scam.   As soon as I was completed with my mortgage modification paperwork I was persuaded to talk with their debt settlement department to discuss my credit card debt.  I was put through to a Rick Weiss, who made his scam sound like the ideal fix for my credit card issues.  I would pay $750 a month to them and in return they would negotiate with my creditors for a lower pay off amount.  Well, 6 months and $4,500 later, they have done no negotiating whatsoever.  I called them about two weeks ago and spoke to one of their processors, and was informed that they DO NOT deal with the creditors, rather they wait until the card is written off by the creditor and then they deal with the collection agency.  This is supposedly because they can get a better deal with the collection agencies.  I told the processor this was not what was explained to me and that I did not wish to continue with their services, and to refund my money.  She promptly told me that there was only $245 in my escrow account!  I was livid!  She stated the rest of the money was used for fees and administrative costs, which I was not accepting.  I have tried to call them back on at least 3 different occasions and have yet been able to reach anyone. I will continue to try and get my money back, but my real goal here is to put this place out of business and those who run it behind bars.  A woman named Pam Gerber allegedly heads the whole operation.  She is supposedly a licensed lawyer in CA.  I stand ready to answer any questions you may have or provide whatever documentation you may need.  Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Do not send your creditors less than the monthly minimum!

AUTHOR: No Justice - ()

Debt Settlement may not be the solution for everyone but I can tell you from personal experience, do not send your creditor less than your monthly minimum payment.  You will still be marked as late and 100% of your payment will be taken as interest.

You can try to settle the debt yourself but usually the collectors just bully people into making some sort of payment that only goes to 100% interest while they charge you late fees and hike up your interest rates.

Gateway Debt Pay Refunds....incorrect !!!!

AUTHOR: Justice - ()

POSTED: Friday, November 01, 2013

Any one who has been with Gateway Debt Pay and had an account set up with them, possibly for debt consolidation and now want to get out of the programs and get a refund, make sure you have set up an account with Gateway which is easy then you can look up your account and see what has been paid and the dates. You will need to download from Gateways site a document revoking their authority to take any futher money out of your  primary checking or savings account. Also everyone needs to know that no doubt there is a Bank Depository custodial Account set up which is your property and you are the owner of that account so any and all money that is left in that account after the date you close the Gateway account is by rights your money and all of it needs to be refunded !!!!!

It's been several peoples experience that when they wanted to get a refund they only got a minimal amount of money back. After looking at your account figure out all payments up until the date you close the account and make sure you get that amount back. If you don't get the full amount back you need to let them know that you want an explanation as to why the full amount wasn't refunded and you want it in writing within 5 working days. Others experiences has been that maintenance fees continue to come out after the account is closed. Now I ask you.....whose money are they using to take those maintenance fees from??? Those whose accounts they are still controlling and they are taking it from the Depository account which is yours and that's why the full refunds aren't being refunded, which is wrong especially if you have revoked their authority and wanted the account closed !!!

If you have been with this company to pay your debt no matter what debt it is...write letters to your creditors and tell them you are going to send what you can to them until you are better financially to send more. Creditors would rather receive some kind of payment then be placed on a list from people who may be contemplating bankruptcy and the money that has been paid to Gateway each month will afford a person that opportunity to pay their creditors something. Also in order to stop the creditors phone calls go online and look up Cease and Desist letters and print them out and send them to your creditors. Once they receive these letters, by law they cannot call you any longer until you lift the Cease and Desist !!!!!  Hopefully this helps some of those who don't/ didn't know what to do !!!  Good Luck
