After being told I would receive 2 free airline tickets for attending the presentation of a new travel agency in the neighbor hood, I attended the hour long presentation on Wednesday night.  They then offered me a free cruise and free nights in a condo the following week as an incentive to sign up that night.  Im embarrassed to say that I did sign up to the tune of $3500.  Down from the original price of $9,995.

Well they never called or returned my calls regarding the condo I needed for my trip the next week.  The free cruise isnt free.  It is a $19 immediate charge, then a $54 sign up charge and then $55 per person per day while on the cruise for an inside room.  (This is more expensive than going directly to the cruise line.)  Finally, the free airline tickets are actually stand by vouchers with lots of restrictions according to what Larry the sales manager told me.

I decided I wanted a refund and called on Friday, within the allowed 72 hour time frame.  I left messages for the next two weeks without getting a call back.  I then went to the offices where I met with Larry the sales manager who told me that I was outside of the 72 hour time frame and thus could not get a refund.  I pressed the issue and he said it would have to go through corporate and that he would get back to me within 3 days.  I have called everyday since and have never heard back from Larry.

I latter received a membership card in the mail.  I called that number to see if it really worked and they told me that they couldnt help me with my travel needs and that I had to call Del Rey directly.  I again called Del Rey, and as I have previously mentioned, they have never called me back.

This company uses either no name or fake names and bogus contact information on their business cards and their web site.  They have been run out of two other states already.  Their rating from the Better Business Bureau moves between NR (not rated) and a C-.

Unfortunately the travel agent business in not regulated and you dont even need a business license in the city, county or state to operate such a business which makes it very easy to set up shop, operate the business until the heat turns up and then move on to another location.

The service the supposedly offer is similar to going on to Expedia or other such Internet site and booking it yourself, yet they dont even provide that.

Buyer beware, this isnt worth your time and certainly not worth your money.
