it has been 5 months and no money.I need my money back. It is mine! they have lied!
I was ripped off by the dell company, I ordered one computer and it crashed and they sent me another one which crashed in two days of receiving it. i sent it back and they have not sent me my money yet it has been 5 months trying to get my money back. they keep saying they are sending it but do not they have lied and lied to us. this is my money and i want it back. Do not trust them we will never buy anything from them again and have contacted our lawyer who will be in touch with them.
The comsumer should not have such trouble with a company that is telling people it has the best customer service. If you try to get what is yours. good luck!!!!

Simular Problem

I tried to purchase a Dell Computer for my son for Christmas. It was the top of the line computer and cost close to $2000. I was told if I wanted to pay cash, I needed to pay before they would start putting the computer together. I gave them my bank debit card, and the money was removed from my account the same day. They gave me an estimated shipping prior to Christmas. I was thrilled, and knew my son would just love his new computer.
Well, Christmas came and went, no computer (and no present under the tree for my son either - it was sad -- but he was a good sport about it, saying it was fine, and he'd have it in a day or two.)
You see, Dell will not tell you if they change your ship date... You have to go to the company web site to track your order. This did not seem fair to me, if I was purchasing a computer, maybe thats because I don't have one...(duh!)
Anyway, I did check the website from my computer at work, and sure enough, they changed the ship date. It was due to arrive before new years -- I was not thrilled, but was willing to wait. Again, no computer. New year's came and went. I checked the computer again and the date was moved to March 2003! Aparently they were waiting on a part...
I called and cancelled the order, since they had $2000 for 6 weeks and could not deliver the product. Long story short, they did not want to cancel, and it took 3 weeks to get a refund.
How this was acomplished was, I got the phone number for Dell in Austin Texas and just started dialing random numbers for extentions until I finally got the line of a manager of the marketing department who was willing to help me. Thanks to her, I finally got my money back -- seems my order was never cancelled in the system and that was the hold up (my, what a surprise) It did cost me about $15.00 in telephone charges though.
I did get a computer for my son finally, we went to Gateway -they were nice and I was able to pick up the computer directly from a Gateway store. He loves the computer, so I guess he feels it was worth the wait!

I have had my Dell computer since June 2001 and it works fine (I'm sending this on a dell computer)As far as service they have been very helpful. To this day I do not have any problem with my Dell computer. As a matter of fact I just recently bought a dell for my mother. My sister-in-law has a Dell No problem. Maybe you or others like you should get some back ground on operating a computer
