I went to the library and found a Dell desktop. Wrote down information, including model number, called Dell and tried to order it. Salesman, Maurice Jones, did what he was trained to do. Told me he couldn't find it and therefore, he couldn't sell it. Switched me to a slightly upgraded and more expensive computer.

I was forwarded to finance department who offered six months of interest free financing. That sounded good, so I agreed.

Received monitor (nice), computer and 926 alll-in-one printer. I used computer for about 30 days and finally got around to trying the printer. When I tried to connect the computer said USB cable was not hooked up. I read all instructions and tried and tried for 3 days. Finally called Dell on 9/13/07 for help. Talked to someone from the Philipines and had my first trouble shooting experience and received my first case number. How could having a case number from a prestigious company like Dell be bad, I wondered.

In an effort to shorten this saga, I now have had 9 trouble shooting sessions, each doing approximately the same thing because noone reads the case number report and noone knows what has been tried by another trouble shooter. Dell has sent me three printers, 4 USB cables and still the computer does not recognize the printer. Three trouble shooters have said I need either a new computer, a new motherboard and a tech to fix it. All three times the supervisor came on line and said NO that is not what I need.

Today is Monday, October 29, 2007. I am waiting for a call from a senior shooter who will resolve my issue. The last senior person, Balwant, said he was taking ownership of the problem. A cd of xp was mailed in an effort to determine if the problem was Vista or computer. I said I woudn't pay so do not send if any money is involved. They said okay, sent cd, now I have $220 on my bill. Thanks for nothing, Dell.

Balwant sent me an email saying his tracking system told him my cd was about to arrive and I had 24 hours to resolve the issue or he would archive the case. Don't threaten me Balwant! There is more to report, but I have run out of room. Do you want a continuation? Financing rip-off, Dell Dollars rip-off and my appointment with the Geek Squad. Stay tuned.
