This is the second time DDFL has ripped me off. I put my name on a priority list for a pug. They are supposed to call myself, and everyone on the list when they get the dog in, before anyone else has the opportunity to see, or lay claim to the animal.
The first time i saw a pug in there, minutes after being put out, they refused to let me see it, insisting that i would have to be there at exactly 12 noon the next day when they open and i would get the dog. So i got there 15 till 12, they were allready open and someone else got in ahead of me and took the dog because they opened early.
Well today, i went in there and they had a pug on display from lost and found. i was shocked because i had not received a phone call. when i had my criteria setup for a pug, i made it very clear that i would want a phone call if they got any kind of pug in, it would not matter age sex or anything.
So when i inquired at the adoption desk they said it was already adopted. and they gave me some kind of bs excuse saying someone found the dog on the website and called to have it held. well i checked the website immediatly afterwards and there was no pug on the website for adoption. then they gave me some bs saying they didnt call me because no sex was specified. lies.
Furtermore this is bull because the last time i was a pug in there they REFUSED to let me put it on hold or even let me see it. I am charging the dumb friends league of denver with corruption, they are not calling people on the priority list because they have friends that they are giving first picks regardless of their status on the priority list, that by the way- requires an oral update via phone every month to maintain the active status of the list.
i had just updated it a week prior to this incident. Also when i complained at the front desk, the director was standing right there listening and she didnt even seem to care. Save yourself the effort, time and heartbreak- dont bother with their BS priority "purebread" list.

#4 Consumer Suggestion
Did you ever fill out an adoption application

People working at these places often go by gut feeling.
They might not like you for some reason and it doesn't have to be logical either.
Also if you've filled out an application they may view you as unqualified to adopt, hence all the stupid excuses.
