I too was contacted yesterday at work by an Officer John Brown fo the Department of Law and Investigation. When I questioned him about the nature of his call and what exactly he was talking about he put me on hold and then "transferred" me to "Mike", which sounded like the same guy. He explained he was calling about an old payday loan through Cashnet. When I asked what company he was with he said "KEL" which is local law firm in my area. They wanted me to fax them a letter, telling me verbatim what the letter should say, including the last four digits of my debit card and the last four digits of my ssn. I did not send anything. They provided me with a fax number of 206-984-0120 and a phone number of 206-203-5852. They too told me that I needed to take care of this immediately or I would be going to jail by Friday.
