My first grandson was born on June 8, 2006. Yadkin County Child Protective Services removed him from the hospital on June 9, 2006. He was born four weeks premature and he wasn't even twenty four hours old when they took him. They had the foster family to meet them at the hospital to pick up my grandson. They still have him.
My second grandson was born on July 25, 2007. He was also taken from the hospital and placed in foster care. He was born four to five and a half weeks premature. Both grandsons are experiencing health problems. The older one stays sick all of the time because the foster family smoke in their home. They do not take him to the doctor when he needs to go. They have waited as long as two months before taking him. The second grandson is having some kind of seizures, he shakes really bad, but no one will take him to a doctor to see what's wrong.
Yadkin County Department of Social Service Employees have perjured themselves on the witness stand, discriminated against myself and my family, and one of their caseworkers has actually abused a child in front of me, my daughter, and the mother of my grandsons. It was reported, but nothing was done.
My son received a letter in the mail today giving him the name of the social worker for the second child, and also a permanency plan date on this child, and it hasn't even been to court yet as far as the seven day hearing and then the ajudication hearing. This is not right by any means. Both of those children need to be with their parents, or with our family.

Hi, We are now in the tpr process for the oldest child. He's 21 months old. The baby (7 month old) is still in foster care. We had the first court date yesterday on the tpr. These DSS workers are a joke!! I would love to see every one of them lose their jobs. The attorneys say that it can take 4 days or more to complete the whole process. My husband and I are going thru the 2nd home study because the judge ordered it.
I'm trying to figure out how to do a petition to have the court request an outside source to do the study. DSS is not going to be fair, just like the first go around. You have a lot of people that could help you a lot in your area. I've been talking to one girl in Raleigh that has helped me a lot in the past few days. Email me and I will give you her name and e-mail address.
Thanks again,
Tammy

Tammy sorry to hear that, my heart goes out to you as I am a victim as well. I don't understand why it is so hard for people to believe stories like ours. There are thousands of families this happens to. There is nothing we can do, DSS is above the law and backed by the law clear to Washington.
I have been fighting for 4 years to get my grandson since birth and I can't even tell you the hell DSS has put me and my family through. The worst part is, DSS forced seperation to my grandsons brother and sister whom which I fought to keep them and because I fought, at the birth of the last grandchild, they took him and made up all kinds of stories supported by the DA, DSS, At Litem, Judge, you name it.
It is a legalized child theft rink and there is NOTHING anyone can do. They count on folks like us, who don't have the money to sue them, much less get your children back and your heritage is stolen right before your very eyes, while they smile at the powerless and steal our babies. Imancipation..... never happened!

No the mother was not on any kind of drugs. She had gestational diabetes. I really don't know why she went into premature labor, unless it had something to do with the diabetes. I know with the first child she had two blood clots in the placenta.
My husband and I have both tried to get custody of these children. We even have a signed paper from both parents giving us custody of the first and guardianship on the second. The second one was signed before DSS even got to the hospital.
Yadkin County wants to make all the money they can off of these two boys. We had our home study done but it took two judges to order it before they would come out and do it. The reason they lost the first one was because they did not have adequate living conditions. The baby was coming here. I had prepared a bedroom in my home just for him. But DSS had already found a family that they were adamant about getting the older child. The supervisor told me that it was planned months in advance (and yes I do have that on tape). Since they had custody of the first grandson, they automatically got custody of the second. But it's not over with yet. We go back to court on the 6th of September.

Why

Why were your grandchildren picked up ? There has to be a reason. Social workers don't just hang out at the hospitals picking up newborns. And why were both children born prematurely ? My guess is that the mother tested positive for illegal drugs during her pregnacy. Is this the case ? And why weren't YOU, as the grandmother, given guardianship ?? Is there something in your background preventing you from this ? Your story is so full of holes, something more has got to be going on here.
