This Company does not tell you this important information when you sign up and pay to have your car transported. The Woman I talked to on the phone told me, "We do not call the person who paid and is requesting the transport of their car, when we get a confirmation from a truck driver who will transport your vechile." The truck driver contacts the person he is picking up the car from and only calls the person the car is being delivered to 8 to 12 hours before they drop it off.
From the time the car is picked up and delivered could be 7 to 14 days. This means the person who is receiving the car is not aware of their car even being booked and shipped with a transport company. This companies employees that I talked to have a non caring attitude toward the way that they list and control your vechile to be shipped. These type of companies list your car, pickup place and destination on a National Transport Website and the truck drivers contact them and book the transport of your car.
Dependable Auto Movers, gets paid a commission of $105.00 to 0.00? for listing your car on the internet for transport. This company requires you to pay your Deposit of $100.00 before they find you a Driver who will transport your car.
Other companies I researched do not require a deposit until they have a confirmed booking of your car. this is definately safer and requires the company to communicate with you about the important aspects of your cars transport.
I would suggest that you book your car's shipping with a company that does not require a deposit until after a confirmation is presrented to you. Also, this company cannot be reached except 9 am to 5 pm Monday thru Friday. Pick a company that has a weekend person to talk to and not just take 5 messages and not call you back. Even during the week.
I discovered one of their little tatics while at home one day. After Leaving Several messages for them, My phone rang one time and then they hung up. it registered on my caller id as being them. About 5 minutes later they did the same thing and hung up.
I called them back and she said we tried to call you twice this morning, but there was no answer. They called just to register their number showing me that they tried to call. However, I was home and Immediately Percievied their unprofessional craftiness. When I confronted them and told her what had happen she could not give me an honest explantion.
After all of this Deception I requested a refund of my $105.00 and sent their quoted requirements from their terms and conditions for giving a refund. However, after several e-mails I called them and kept getting the answering machine at 10:30 in the morning. After my second message I said, I will call back again in five minutes. I immediately called back and a woman answered the phone. I am sure they knew it was not me!
This is when I learned all the companies hidden practices which I have informed you about in this Ripoff Warning!
My refund request is as follows:
"Your Website states that, "All cancellations must be made in writing. Once a carrier has been assigned for pick-up and transport of the vehicle the deposit will no longer be refundable as we have handled our portion of the transportation."
If you do not have a Carrier assigned to my car for pickup and a date for pickup, Please send a refund of $105.00 to my credit card.
After about 10 e-mails I still do not have one e-mail response from UnDependable Auto Movers, Inc.
As I told them in my letter, the money is not the issue, but Their deceptive practices of lying and stealing are what I am Warning everyone about, that I come into contact with.

I know what research I did for a few days and I Know I found several who do not Require a deposit UNtil AFter they have a Confirmed Booking of your car!
I put this phrase into Google ,"auto transport companies and brokers no deposit," and the first company listed states that there is no deposit required!
Automobile Transport Brokers to the Nation, professional sports teams and moving companies. No deposit required.
Other companies I researched do not require a deposit Until they have a Confirmed booking of your car.
This is definately safer and requires the company to communicate with you about the important aspects of your cars transport.
I think it is very interesting that you just happened to leave your information just one day after the "New Management," left her message about being so sorry. Is it just a coincidence that you happened to be looking up this company one day after this "So called New Manager," left her message? This is just the type of hassle and LIes I had to put up with for 5 days while I was dealing with Dependable Auto Movers!

I ship classic cars all the time, and have for years. I have used many transport companies and brokers, and they ALL work the same way. You must pay a deposit before they will even think about booking your vehicle on a transport. The reason for this is because when the truck driver calls in and says he will take your car, he is reserving space on his truck for you. He has passed on another car so he can take yours. Now, if you decide that you don't want it shipped anymore, or you found someone else, then he lost money.
I am not defending DAS. They have damaged my cars 2 times that I have used them, and will never call them again. I am just saying that no broker will take your reservation without a deposit.

If this company is under New Management, how can you even know what happened in my transaction?
My first impression of your comments are that you do not intend to tell the truth. I am completely wrong? I was lied to several times during my transaction. Why would I waste a few hours of my time to write up a rip-off report on your company if I am completely wrong?
How can I be Completely Wrong?
Who would like to do business with someone who says they are always right?
I am just one customer but my complaint speaks volumns about Dependable Auto Movers. I will let others decide after reading your rebuttal..

Any broker will require a deposit BEFORE they will attempt to book your vehicle with a transport. Although I personally wouldn't use DAS, they are no different than anyone else. Pay your deposit, or the car doesn't get booked.
