I opened up an account with Desert Schools Credit Union.  Within a very short period of time, I had an NSF charge when I had overdraft protection on the account.  Ignoring that offense, I decided it just must have been an oversight on the part of the staff.

I contaced a man calling himself Mike and he stated the account was not linked for overdraft protection, but I set it up that way when I opened the account, and the savings was linked to the checking.

Then, I had deposits be denied by other banks if they were written on my Desert Schools Credit Union account.

I'd call up the banks, including Compass and Chase, who reported the deposit was returned at the request of Desert Schools Credit Union.

No reason given.  There was ample money available.  So I get stabbed with
the cost of a returned deposit on top of everything else.

Then I write out a check to pay my SRP and Desert Schools returns that.  There
was money in the bank.  They claimed the account didn't exist according to SRP.

So Compass, Chase and SRP are all reporting these "returns" to be requests made by Desert Schools.

I go into Desert Schools and they said I was crazy, that Desert Schools never
requested any of these returns.  SRP reportedly spoke to a Mike.  I don't know if this was the same one.

I've been banking in Arizona for 27 years, and have never encountered this type of belittling.  I felt they were trying to discredit me, trying to make me look incompetent.  But I have over 20 years with Bank of America, and have had Compass for several years.  No problems I couldn't understand.  These problems I cannot understand at all.

They treat me like I'm a newcomer or straight off the streets lunatic.  I have a smoke-free, drug-free home, that is fairly strict.  (No television allowed, no computer education for children).

At one point, they closed out my account WITH money left in it, and wouldn't allow me to access it, or withdraw remaining funds.

I am also suspicious of the way they have an International Fee.  I am not even aware if some items I buy are from Canada or overseas, yet they charge a fee.  When I asked them about this, they told me Visa makes them do it.  How do they know in the first place?  Are they linked to Paypal?  And why does no other bank charge a fee, shouldn't the fee be given to the government instead of the bank?

All it takes is one dishonest employee to exploit your information.  I'd recommend signing up for identity protection.  Most bank employees have access to your Social Security Number, and Arizona has the highest rank of identity theft in the nation.  Since they represent a financial "ruler" in Arizona, I don't think that speaks well of them.  Why are they not controlling the masses
better than they are?
