On May 6, 2009 the Desert Schools Credit Union Fraud department called and told me they believed there was a fraudulant charge on my account and I needed to call Customer Service and shut down my debit card.
I called Customer Service to shut the card down and was told to go to the branch to sign a fruad report, and get a new card. I did that after I got off work that day.
The teller told me I needed to deposit $52 as a pending transaction would overdraw the account because of the fraud. I asked the teller if she was sure that was all I needed to deposit and she assurred me it was.
The bank was getting ready to close but I did not have the funds with me, so the teller said I could make the deposit at the ATM that evening before 9 P.M.
which I did, I deposited $75. Also, my direct deposit payroll was coming into the bank that same evening.
The next morning, May 7 I left on vacaton, believing everything was OK. The day I returned from vacation, May 12 I logged onto my account and was totally shocked to see what they had done to me.
Desert Schools had declined any checks or debits that came in and charged me $30 each for a total of $240 in fees. Even though my payroll deposit was there, the $75 deposit I made and the refunded money from the fraud. On top of thall, I had $25 in savings that they would not let me withdraw.
I drew out what was left in my account and closed it, the and only then did they allow me to get what was in the ssavings account. That is the worst bank I have ever used. I would not use them if they were the only bank around, nor would I recommend them even to my worst enemy if I had any enemies.

I am intrigued as to what they did wrong. I am not sure so far. It sounds like the fraud transactions went through and they reversed them but the fees weren't reversed? If so, you should have talked with someone about that.
P.S. The $25 is a shares hold that every Credit Union requires be in the savings account. The amounts may vary, but it is in essence your share of the company, as a credit union is not publically traded. This is common amongst all credit unions and is your money and can be withdrawn at account closing.

Did you point out the error and ask them to rectify it? What did they say?

What all of the people who think Credit Unions are much better than banks will say. After all they think that Credit Unions are perfect and are not in business to make money off of fees.
By the way a Credit Union is NOT a Bank.
