From what I understand, this company offers naive people the services of 'psychic'  readings that will bring them health, wealth & happiness. These people pay a fee to get 'lucky' or 'winning' numbers to play the lottery with. When they pay this fee they occassionally receive a talisman that might ward off evil or illness. They could purchase a ring that breings them luck. I'm really not sure exactly what they offer and what the hapless customer gets in return. I do know they prey on seniors, widows, lonely people.  Using the name of Maria Duval, Destiny Research promises to use telepathic means to help people solve their problems or fulfill their wishes. Destiny Research, aka Maria Duval has operated through the United States and Canada.

The letters that come to the recipients of this scam are often personalized, as if it was meant for them, personally. That is because Destiny Research purchases mailing lists from legitimate companies. If you've been ripped off by these people, chances are you have also bought items through the mail, hence this is how they can send you personal letters, indicating they know who you are, what your problems are, how they can help you.

My mother, a smart, educated, in-charge woman who was a lonely widow living in the small town of St Albert, Alberta, Canada, surviving on a small pension, fell for this scam! Unfortunately, my mother was also exhibiting early signs of Alzheimer's. She didn't realize that sending $59 every week was adding up. She didn't understand the silly amulets she sometimes received in a lovely velveteen bag were nothing but a two cent piece of junk! I've read other rip-off reports about this place and it still angers me 4 years later how this company has manipulated people's emotions to make money hand over fist.

In just one year spanning 2009/10, my mother sent cheques almost every week of $59 each time, added up to over $2,400! That doesn't include the cash she sometimes sent after I discovered this and confiscated her cheque book. Did it bring my mother luck? health? wealth? happiness? No, No, No, No! The only one getting rich and happy in that relationship was Destiny Research.
