My Son ordered a Gas Scooter through DFW Scooters, a Dallas Internet online business.
After sending the money order to the seller, He waited for his "Scootie", as he was calling it!
Emails were sent, and fruitless phone calls. The message on the number said that the number had been disconnected, with no other information.
I got back on the internet and looked up the Company. Lo and Behold! the company has a bad record thru the
Dallas branch of the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!
Seems like the poor kid has lost the money he saved for the scooter, for a total of $328.95.
He worked all winter aboard a Crabbing boat off the California coast, saving his extra money, for something special.
Now his reward is gone!
Buyers BEWARE!! Don't buy before checking the reputation of the company you are going to deal with!!

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Bite the bullet and buy your next scooter locally.

I have four scooters, and this is a problem I've run into. A lot of the scooter shops won't even sell you parts unless you bought the scooter from them. Not nice, but that's how it is. Part of the problem is that a lot of the scooters are JUNK and the dealers know it. Don't buy a no-name scooter made in China, because they have very poor or non-existant parts support even for commonly needed items like wheels and hand controls, and the scooters do break down. The really junk scooters are sold at swap meets, discount auto-parts stores, road-side stands, etc. Visit the real shops to ensure you'll have the support you'll need, on a brand you're sure they stock parts for.
