Maybe they had several reasons. If you are buying a used vehicle, you must first determine what those reasons were, and if you can accept them. And buying a used vehicle ''as-is, where-is'' is your first warning.

Maybe the thermostat was partially stuck or the radiator was partially clogged, had a slow leak, or even had too high a % of ethylene glycol in it. The higher the % of EG in the cooling system the less cooling you get. If pure water is 100% cooling, 50% EG will give you 60% cooling.

The dealer may have road tested the vehicle locally but you were probably running it down the freeway a much longer distance toward home.

Did I make a mistake? Maybe

Will I buy another vehicle from eBay? No

My problem? I trusted a businessman. I know that things happen. It is how a business deals with them that sets them apart. Joe told me that he felt bad and that he would help me out and not leave me hanging. And here I am almost 2 months later, still hanging. Still waiting for the promise to come true. And all that Joe is concerned about is a couple of complaints that were filed. Just more excuses not to make good on his word. If he was a man of his word I would have gotten the amount promised on June 8, 2008, instead of a bunch of excuses.

I can't find myself getting excited about what he or his employee do or say. All I can see is how I was treated. And I can tell you that it is terrible. All I can say is "Buyer Beware". If you buy a car from Diamond Auto, don't count on anything "above and beyond"! If it is not in writing, it is not going to happen.

I have been an employee of diamond auto sales for over 10 years as an auto detailer ,i have seen and cleaned every vehicle that is bought and sold for the dealership .I know that every vehicle goes through a strict inspection and is road tested or (demo'd) for at least a week driving all distances not just for coffee. i personally have purchased over 5 vehicles over the last 10 years from diamond never having any major problems .

As an employee and customer of Diamond i know that great pride is taken in making sure that every vehicle is in highest condition

Sorry Bob W. but it is a fact of life there are scamsters on E-Bay. Maybe you aren't one of them, and that's great! But I value my money and it would be a cold day in a very hot place before I would buy any car sight unseen from E-Bay. There's no way you can convince me otherwise!

What Mr. W states is correct. He did purchase the vehicle in quetion as-is/where-is. I have no idea what could have happened in those 100 miles before the vehicle broke down. I do know that we go over every vehicle we sell with a fine tooth comb and I personaly drive every vehicle I sell.

We have been in business at the same location since 1990 and my ebay reputation is impeccable since I began selling there in 2002 (nearing 1000 vehicles). There was absolutely nothing wrong with this vehicle when it left the dealership. That said, the veicle in question is a 2003 GMC Envoy with almost 100,000 miles on it.

Do unexpected things happen with used vehicles? Yes they do. I did send Mr. W some of the money and was going to send the rest but now since this complaint I have reservations. If anyone wants to contact me about this matter feel free to email me @jritorto34@comcast.net

It will be a sad day Jim, when no one can trust anyone. Today there are 54,042 cars and trucks on eBay alone for sale. I am sure that a lot of these people are hoping that you are wrong.
I have sold 2 cars within the last year from web sites. Both people bought the cars sight unseen. One fellow flew into Delaware from Rhode Island to get his car. And he was very excited. Guess that he did not know that he didn't have any sense? Well, I guess that it is a big club.
I guess that you could go through life not trusting anyone, but then you would be missing out on a lot. Because I feel, even after this, that the MAJORITY of people can be trusted and hold to their word.

Why would you or anyone else want to buy a car, sight unseen from E-Bay? Do you think this makes one bit of sense?
