I placed 3 mares, one with a small foal in the care of Diana Beccerra & Ed Testo in mid Nov.2006, buy the 14th of Dec.2006 the mare with the baby had died of starvation. The agreement was that they were to get the ownership of a 4th mare in exchange for the care of the 3 mares & the baby for 2 to 3 months. I also put approx. 400#s of grain & at least 1 1/2 tons of alfalfa hay as well as had given the cash money to help towards some local grass hay. Not once did they call me & say they needed more feed & never did they call me & let me know my horses were in critical condition.

On Dec. 14th my mother stopped by & after that, I got a call that I had a mare down. I went there within 45 minutes as I was that far away, with in 20 minutes of seeing my mare down, I had called 4 Vets & was waiting for call backs. My mare died before any of the 4 could respond. I was then treatened by Ed Testo & his sister to remove my remaining mares or they would turn them out on the road. They are located close to where Brookdale/128th & 159th come together just west of 160th & Canyon RDs. Not a safe place to have hungry horses on the roadway.

So I waited there until I could get a friend to come with his trailer & pick up my 2 mares. Because I had given them the 4th mare,, I was not allowed too take her. I fear for this mare & the rest of the animals in their care.

What are frieds for??

AUTHOR: Diana Lynn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 25, 2006

The day I got the call, I was 45 minutes away as I had to be out & about that day. When I placed the horses with these friends, I was living almost 2 hours away & in the midst of a major move. Running up tp check on horses that I had placed with friends I thought I could trust was not to be an issue. I did however try to call on a daily or at least every other day basis, with no answer usually & when I did make contact I was told all was just fine, no need to worry.

In all the hussling of the move, we suffered a death in our family & again was told by there friends, that all was well & I had enough to worry about. So if I was trusting these friends, why should I have to run over there to check on things when I was sending feed over & I was assured that all was fine!!

I am just sorry that I trusted someone with my horses. To this date, neigther Diana or Ed have expressed even the slightest "I am soory" for this tragidy.

Unbelievable. I don't suppose you had anything in writing? If you were only 45 minutes away, why didn't you check on your horses once in a while?

I sure would not have been "bullied" by these people. My next call after the vets would have been to the sheriff and the animal control.

What kind of condition were your remaining horses in? If you fear for the remaining horses, why haven't you done something besides post here?
