I was very disappointed with Disneyland. I have been coming to Disneyland for over 30 years. My family and i visted Disneyland on 3/3/06 for my daughter birthday. A Lot of the rides was closed not only for refurbishment but for just broken. We even got stuck on It's a small world for over a half hour.

Why does Disneyland do regular maintanence at night when it is closed. It take away from the magic when half the rides are down. With half of the rides down, it makes the other rides lines very longt. We waited for over hour and half for Star Tours. We only did that because it was my dauther favarite. They took fast pass out of Star Tours. It is like they can only have one fast pass per land.

What happen to all the charactors. I didn't see one charactor the whole time we was there. You use to see them every where. Now you have to eat breakfast with them to see them.

What happen to the Main St. parade? It was so sad. 4 floats!!! We stood on Main street for over a hour for 4 floats.

Disneyland has gone down hill bad. I have never been so disappointed in Disneyland. Walt must be turning over in his grave. It was never like this when he was alive!!

Disneyland Dissapointments

AUTHOR: Dsperin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 06, 2009

I just visted Disneyland the first week of March of this year. We made it just before the big spring break crowds.

Now, I haven't been since I was 8 years old and I didn't really remember that trip, but what I experienced was not what I had expected. Keep in mind, though, that I really did have a great time.

We were there mid-week, so it wasn't TOO crowded, but the lines towards the end of the day were insane. Early in day the lines moved quickly, and if you used the fast pass option, it was even faster.

There seemed to be an amazingly high number of people with infants and toddlers, which I don't understand at all. The kids can't go on the majority of the rides, so I kept asking myself what the point was... why pay those prices for children who A) won't remember the trip and B) can't participate in 90% of the activities? Oh, well.

The most important (and saddest) thing that I noticed was the lack of "magic" during the day. I agree with the OP--the characters were missing. I perused many-a-website before driving 16 hours to get to Anaheim so I would be prepared. I didn't know that the characters were at a certain location at a certain time until my second day at the park. In addition, the lines to see these characters were as long as the rides! To make matters worse, the character "body guards" rush patrons through the whole process. It wasn't much fun at all. I thought the characters walked through the park through out the day. I talked to one particularly nice "body guard" and she said she thought that the lack of characters was due to the economy, so whatever.

I was really disapointed with the price of the food, but that was to be expected.

I found most of the souvenirs to be reasonably priced.

We went on nearly every ride, but in the end that really only amounted to a few rides per day (due to the lines). Most of the time was spent walking between attractions and standing in line. That part makes me sad.

In the end, I had a really fun time. I entered the park without high expectations, and I enjoyed what came. People just need to remind themselves that it's just a theme park, like Six Flags or Knotts Berry Farm. It's all about money in the end, hence the jacked-up prices.

NOT EXAGERRATED

AUTHOR: Lioness - (U.S.A.)

Hey Mikey. You need to really look at what consumers are saying about the park. The employees are rude, uncaring amusement park employees. That is all that Disneyland has become. Everytime you rebut a story, its always the excuse of the particular day someone went, etc.

How about no more excuses? Are you a current employee? Your park is LOSING money! It is a ripoff.

A bit Exagerated???

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 02, 2007

Sorry you seemed to think you had such a bad day but I'll just put some comments out on the points you asked.

Maintenance: They do some maintenance overnight but can not do it all only during the time when they are closed. During some times of the year they close at 12 midnight and open at 8am the next morning. Because of the Shutdown and Startup Procedures that gives them about 6 hours a night. Even for minor touch up paint that is not enough time for it to be done and dry correctly. Another example is the major rehab of Splash Mountain for 4 months that is currently going on. There is no way it could only be done at night and then open for guests during the day. I can also guarantee you that "half" the rides were not down during the day. Things happen and rides may temporarily close, but this is really no more than a few on any given day.

Characters: You say you did not "see" one character the entire day. That is really hard to do. Not only are they pretty much out through out the park, they put into the times guide specific areas that they are and the times they are there. Now was it that you did not see one or did not want to wait to have your picture with one? The characters are very popular so there may be a line that you have to wait your turn, but so does everybody else. It is not like they can have "10 Mickey's no waiting", there can only be 1 Mickey so there WILL be a wait. Yes they do have character meals where the characters will come around to your table. You do have to pay for these, but this does not take away from all of the other interactions they have throughout the rest of the park and do not cost any extra.

Wait Times: You said you have to wait over 90 minutes for Star Tours because it was your daughters favorite ride. Well it might have been 90 minutes because it is other peoples favorite ride also. If it was truely her favorite ride when did you try to go on it? Was it first thing in the morning or was it during the middle of the afternoon. I will bet that you did notice the wait times were less on all of the rides in the early part of the day and got busy as the day went on. With FastPass out of Star Tours that would enable you to have gotten a FastPass on another ride and then use the time to wait for Star Tours anyways. So the end result would have been the same but you just switched the order of the rides you would have done.

Parade: There are 7 floats in the current parade. On occasion I have seen them drop 1 for mechanical issues but to only have 4 is really out of the ordinary and I would guess that there were more than 4.

FastPass: They did some reconfiguring of FastPass and Star Tours was dropped for various reasons(which I didn't really like either). However, they do have 3 other fast pass attractions in Tommorowland(Autopia, Space Mountain, and Buzz Lightyear). So your limit of 1 per land is incorrect. FYI Tommorowland has the most of any of the other lands.
